Out of the camp! (YAY!)(Open?)

[Mosspaw]

Runningkit charged out of camp, so happy to be out and about. He lied down by a tree, trying to hide from Rainpaw.

[Goldenstorm]

Rainpaw followed the cat happily. She followed his scent and leapt onto him lightly. "You can't hide from me!"

[Mosspaw]

"Ow!" Runningkit got up again and ran in circles around the tree, only to find Rainpaw on the other side every time. He ran to another tree and hid in the reeds next to it. "He/she'll never find me here!"

[Goldenstorm]

ooc: Rainpaw's a GIRL

Rainpaw trotted over to the kit, pretended she didn't know where he was and sat down a few mouse-lengths away from him. "I wonder where Runningkit went." she thought aloud.

[Mosspaw]

Runningkit jumped out and landed on Rainpaw's head. "I got you!" He said, standing on her head. He pushed off and ran back to the reeds.

[Goldenstorm]

"You!" Rainpaw growled playfully. She jumped to her paws and charged into the reeds, she placed a paw on Runningkit. She pinned him down.

[Mosspaw]

Runningkit squirmed and tried to get free, and finally got loose. He jumped up onto a low branch, then jumped on Rainpaw's head yet again, and jumped off, hiding in the same tree that he'd climbed before.

[Goldenstorm]

Rainpaw laughed and let her claws slide into the rough bark as she pounced onto the tree. She made her way up and pushed Runningkit lightly off the low branch. It was hardly a height to be afraid of for a kit.

[Mosspaw]

Runningkit fell off, but quickly latched his paw back onto the branch, then the branch snapped off, sending the kit and the branch flying at the ground. Runningkit landed on the softer twigs, so he wasn't hurt.

[Goldenstorm]

Rainpaw leaped down, knowing the kit wasn't hurt. "You want to learn how to swim?" she suggested. She would have to take him to the shallows, the current was much to strong for a kit to survive.

[Mosspaw]

"Would I ever!" Runningkit jumped up and followed Rainpaw. "Lead the way!"

[Goldenstorm]

"You asked for it!" Rainpaw ran as fast as she possibly to down to the river. The current in the center was strong and fast, she was starting to have regrets. The smallest mistake would take Runningkit away forever.

[Mosspaw]

Runningkit lost Rainpaw along the way, looking around, scared. "Rainpaw? Where are you?" He mewed quietly, looking for the apprentice. "Where are you?" Runningkit was lost out here in the territory that he had no idea on how to find his way back. "Rainpaw?"

[Goldenstorm]

After a few moments, Rainpaw realized she had lost Runningkit. She backtracked and found Runningkit's scent. She began following and found him calling out her name, he was lost. She padded up to him, laying her fluffy tail on his shoulder. "Are you coming or not?"

[Mosspaw]

"Yes! But you left me! Meanie!...
Just kidding! Lets go." Runningkit walked in the opposite direction of the river, attempting to lead the way.

[Goldenstorm]

Rainpaw let out a laugh. "Hey Runningkit, river's this way." she pointed it out with her tail into the other way. She could already smell the crisp water.

[Mosspaw]

"Oh, Right!" Runningkit bounced towards the river. He could hear the crackling of the water on the rocks from here.

[Goldenstorm]

Rainpaw led the way, trotting to the river. She stopped at the fast flowing current, looking for a calm, shallow spot where she could teach Runningkit to swim. She found a small cove under a giant willow tree. "There." she mewed to herself. She padded over and slowly padded into the water, the clear liquid barely reaching the halfway point up her legs.

[Mosspaw]

Runningkit touched his p aw to the water. "It's cold." He said, backing away for a second. He stepped into the water, the small current pushing on his paws. As he got deeper into the water, he lost his footing once, only to come back up, bobbing at the surface. He kicked as hard as he could, trying to stay above water. as he reached Rainpaw, the current was somewhat weaker. Runningkit pushed hard against the current, trying not to be swept away. "Am I..." He swallowed a mouthful of water, "Doing good?"

Rainpaw pushed Runningkit back into the shallows. "You will if you stay here. Focus on kicking your paws." she instructed.

[Mosspaw]

Runningkit floundered over to Rainpaw, then kicked as hard as he could past her, into the shallower waters. Runningkit, after a few minutes of swimming, was very fatigued, and he went up onto the shore, icy water matted his coat to his pelt. He shook, but some of it still clung to his fur. Runningkit started shivering, the cold air and the water only made the air a whole lot colder. "Can we go back now? I'm cold."

[Goldenstorm]

"Yes. Let's dry you off first." Rainpaw smiled. She padded over to Runningkit and laid down on the bank. She signaled for him to lay beside her so he could be dried, the queens would question why he was soaked if he came back wet.

[Mosspaw]

Runningkit padded over to Rainpaw, and lied down next to Rainpaw, getting colder by the second.

[Goldenstorm]

"Start licking." Rainpaw started to lick Runningkit's pelt the wrong way, gathering the water hidden in his pelt and warming it at the same time.

[Mosspaw]

Runningkit started licking his legs, they were the coldest. "Thanks for showing me how to swim, it was really fun."
