Lying Around the Camp

Jadeclaw padded out of the warriors den, stretching. He padded toward the fresh-kill pile and grabbed a mouse, then sat next to a rock and slowly ate.

BlackClaw strode into the warrior's den to check up on his clan and threw the recently caught shrew onto the food pile. He sauntered up to JadeClaw. "Good day, JadeClaw." He mewed in greeting. "What do you plan on doing today?" BlackClaw was always interested on who was hunting so that he knew who he could have a go at if the kill wasn't up to his standards.

Jadeclaw looked up as Blackclaw walked up to him. "Hm...I dunno...hadn't really thought about it..." He replied to Blackclaw's question. "Maybe go on a patrol I guess."

BlackClaw nodded and turned back to the exit, ready to go hunting again. He began running and leapt out of the warrior's den and into the nearby forest.

Jadeclaw finished off his mouse, buried the remains, and padded after Blackclaw.

BlackClaw turned to see JadeClaw behind him. "I'll see you after your patrol." He mewed before stalking into the forest.

"See ya." Jadeclaw watched him leave, then went back to laying at the rock. He closed his eyes and slept.

BlackPaw licked his paw and cleaned his head before heading to the Leader's Den to find ShadowStar. "Shadow," He called as he entered. "Are there any duties you want me to do today?"

Shadow looked up from her doodles in the dirt ground. Stamping dust off her paws, the RiverClan leader cat sauntered over to the tomcat. "Duties?" she repeated, her voice harsh and quiet and husky. She thought for a moment. "Yes, would you please renew the scent markers on the Western Border. Summon ArrowPaw the apprentice and StoneEye the warrior to help you." she padded past the cat and into the sunlight. "And thank you." she said, a small smile playing on her face. Flicking an ear to bat away a fly, Shadow went to the Nursery to check on a she-cat who had recently given birth.

"Will do, Shadow." BlackClaw said, bowing his head. He left the Leader's Den and headed straight for the Warrior's Den. The noisy den quietened to total silence when the warriors realized thair Deputy's presence. "ArrowPaw," BlackClaw called. "StoneEye." Two tabby cats immediately perked up. "Come with me." The two warriors followed the Deputy who had turned around and began to exit the den as it gradually began to fill with loud mews again.

When the three cats had reached the edge of RiverClan territory, BlackClaw turned to the other two. "ShadowStar," He mewed. "Has instructed me to, with your help, specifically, renew the scent markers."

Renfue was silent as he watched his Clan Leader slip into the nursery, flame-tufted tail twitching. He was anxious. He had been on a hunting patrol already today, but he still felt there was something he needed to do to serve his clan. He curled his agitated tail around his massive paws, narrowing his eyes as the deputy and his cronies left the camp. "Damn," he hissed under his breath. He had just barley missed his chance. The big, blue-grey top shifted his glance to the whispering reeds that lay close by the Warriors Den. He felt useless; what was a warrior to do if not serve his Clan 24/7?
Renfue heaved a sigh and got to his feet, sauntering towards the Nursery where his Leader had dissapeared. He did not want to disturb the queens or the kits, so he sat once again and waited patiently outside for her to emerge. He wanted a duty; weather it was to work on battle techniques with subordinate warriors, hunt or anything...

Shadow slipped from the reeds and paused as she found Renfue sitting outside. There was boredom written all over the cat's face. Shadow smiled gently, "Would you like to help me, Renfue?" she asked, tail flicking. "There are several new apprentices...they need a tutor to help them fight. I'll be taking a couple of them, you may train some if you wish." Shadow leaned her head to the side and gazed quietly into the tomcat's eyes, waiting for his reply.

Renfue got to his feet awkwardly when his leader emerged, bowing his head slightly and shuffling back to give her room. He opened his mouth to say what was on his mind, but closed it when she spoke with him.
"Would you like to help me, Renfue?" She asked him.
He nodded, blowing the ebony bangs out of his lime green eyes. "Yes, I was just about to request that, ShadowStar. How can I be of service?
"There are several new apprentices...they need a tutor to help them fight. I'll be taking a couple of them, you may train some if you wish."
Renfue nodded again. He had always wished to have an apprentice, and now would be a chance to impress his leader....perhaps enough to earn him his own. "It would be my honor, ShadowStar, He replied, trying to keep the eagerness out of his voice as he fell into step next to his leader.

Mountainstar came out, "You may train an apprentice when there is one ready. I need a Deputy, and I must assign one soon. You don't fit the requirements though, you must have mentored an apprentice." he said as his bright yellow eyes bared down on him and waited for an answer.

Wait a minute, I'm a bit confused... who is the leader of the Clan? Shadow or Mountain?

You probably noticed Shadow never getting on? Well, she was replaced. Blackclaw isn't getting on either.
