Vixenstep purred, her heart racing. Mintleaf had Liontail, just as Mosspaw had Whitepaw. Now she had someone besides her brother who truly cared for her besides the casual relationship of Clanmates.

Goldenstorm let his mind wander. First, he had Watertail as a friend, then his mother Moontail. She died when a badger attacked, then Watertail became distant. He'd never had anyone close. His mother left him here so he'd be a warrior, he was, now maybe it be best to move on and gather new companions. Vixenstep was his closest companion yet, but then again, maybe it would be better if he saw his mother. Heatherpelt would be proud to see him, Cody too. "Vixenstep, I've a question for you."

Goldenstorm smiled. "I'm going to find my mother. Watertail told me her name was Heatherpelt, she's a loner now. Will you come with me?" he asked, a serious mew the whole time.

Goldenstorm looked out onto the moorland. "I'm not sure." he mewed, almost to himself. Where am I going to start looking? How do I even know they're still alive? he pondered about these words. I've got to find out.

Goldenstorm shook his head, "I doubt they'd know." he became weary. "Perhaps we'd find something on the borders. If they are loners, Heatherpelt wouldn't have moved far from here." he suggested. The sun had disappeared and twilight was upon them.

"Yeah. Let's go, before it gets too dark." Vixenstep reluctantly stood up, shaking mud off her tortoiseshell pelt.

Goldenstorm sighed with relief, thankful Vixenstep chose to wait. Maybe she's right. He looked up at the beautiful she-cat, "No you're right, let's go." he smiled. He took a few pawsteps forward and turned his head just to see if she was coming.

Goldenstorm smiled as he purred back at her. He looked back at the territory, the air becoming cool and crisp and the moon illuminating the land so that everything was washed silver. He took a deep breath and leaped forward, bounding out of the main camp and onto the peaty grass of WindClan territories. He went over to the border that had no other enemy borders, it would be the best spot for a loner to find a home.
