Eyes wide with fear and worry,Foxkit poked Ivorykit with her nose. "Are you Oka-"she was interrupted by a long bout of coughing,and then she sneezed. She lay her head on her paws weakly,but worry and fear for her friends echoed the stench of sickness on her pelt.

Ivorykit blindly pawed Foxkit. "I'm okay..." She coughed before saying to Silverpelt, "Why can't I see?" The larger she-cat murmured to Ivorykit, "Your eyes still need to readjust back to light." She looked at Feralpelt. "WELL?! Do you know what the herbs look like?"

"Oh for StarClan's sake! I know what the herbs look like."Cloudfrost growled,his eyes burning with anger. He knew what the herbs smelled and felt like because he had been in training to be a medicine cat for a few moons. "What do you need?"he demanded,lashing his tail.

Silverpelt looked at Cloudfrost. "Feverfew and tansy. Enough for all the kits." She sighed and looked at the suffering kits.

Wolfkit struggled back towards his friends and then lay, panting. He took in gulps of air before closing his eyes. He gave a small wimper as everything went black. His breathing became quicker and shalower still.

Silverpelt gasped and shook her head. She licked Wolfkit the wrong way, the irritation having woken Ivorykit before him, and kept thinking, If these kits die, I'm going to never forgive myself.

Wolfkit faintly felt the licking, but it was as if a world away. The pain seemed to vanish for a moment, but he snapped back as he heared a clatter.

Thistlefur stumbled clumsily into the nurcery. He had heared noises and had been unable to sleep. WHen he saw the gruop of coughing, moaning kits he woke up fully and stared blankly at Kestrelkit. "Great Starclan!" He cried, but still he did nothing.

Kestrelkit whimpered faintly,eyes closed and breathing quick and shallow.

"Got it."Cloudfrost growled,rushing to the medicine den. He groped around in the den blindly,all the scents confusing him briefly. But then he regained a hold on his senses,easily finding the herbs Silverpelt had requested. He ran back,panting through the bitter herbs in his jaws.

Silverpelt laid her tail on Cloudfrost's shoulder, saying thanks before taking a dose for Wolfkit and murmuring, "Chew these. It'll help." She did the same for each of the kits before cycling through them, making sure that each chews their herbs.

Wolfkit spat the herbs out in disgust. "Taste bad.." He murmered.

Thistlefur turned to look at Silverpelt. "What do I do?" He asked helplessly. He has no experience of kits before.

The silver she-cat looked at Thistlefur. "Make sure they chew those leaves." She forces Wolfkit to chew the leaves, murmuring, "I know they taste bad, but it will help you get better."

]"But taste baad!" He retoted, a flare of his old spirit showing. Then he spat them out again. "Herbs no want!" He complained.

Thistlefur growled and stood over Wolfkit. "Wolfkit, you know your missbehaving. Eat the herbs." Wolfkit still refused to eat them.

Silverpelt hissed at Wolfkit, obviously revealing that her anger at Wolfkit is overpowering her panic over the kits. She shook her head, sighing. "You are the most stubborn kit I've known... even more stubborn than I was when I was a kit..."

Wolfkit took the as a compliment and swished his tail, weakly but happily.

Thistlefur turned to look at Silverpelt. "He seems better than he was. Myabe the herb's juices have gone down his throat? At least he's not on the brink of death. See if you can get him to eat the herbs, I'll go make sure the others have swallowed them."

Silverpelt smiles at Wolfkit. "I'll tell you what. If you finish those herbs, I'll get you something special, and just for you."

Foxkit growled weakly in protest. "No. Don't wanna. Taste yucky." She wrinkled her nose to show she wasn't going to eat the herbs obediently. Then she coughed,a long bout of weak,rasping breaths.

Thistlefur sighed. "Alright, I can't make you. If you want to die it's your choise." He turned away.

Wolfkit looked at Foxkit. "Rebelition!" He cried. He quietend when he heared the words Special and you. "What special?" He asked, wide eyed before coughing again.

Silverpelt smiled. "It will be very special." She licked Wolfkit before padding over to Foxkit. "I'll get something special too, something that Wolfkit won't get if you finish the herbs."

Ivorykit was chewing her herbs, grimacing at the taste. She finished her herbs and coughed a little, but not as violently. "The herbs really do work... Just finish them."

Foxkit stared at them,surprised they hadn't tried to shove the herbs down her throat. "Good,'cause I'm gonna get better all by myself!"she mewed,sneezing. "A future leader can't die of a stupid little cold."

Cloudfrost growled in irritation. "Silverpelt,go get a fat mouse,if you can find one."he growled in a low voice,so that she was the only one who could hear him. "Hide the herbs in it,and then they'll eat them."

Silverpelt laid her tail on Cloudfrost's shoulder again. "Thanks... I actually forgot that could work." Silverpelt sighed and said to Foxkit, "Fine. You win. At least let me get you a mouse to help you." She padded off, taking another dose of each of the herbs with her, careful to hide them from view and comes back with a mouse in her mouth. "Here. In honor of your determination to get better without herbs." She laid the mouse in front of Foxkit.

Foxkit blinked gratefully and crouched to eat,gulping down the herbs obliviously.

Cloudfrost grunted in response and turned to walk away. "All comes from very limited medicine training in case of a battle,"he said,a slightly bitter tone in his voice.

He padded weakly up to Thistlefur. "How come she gets a mouse? I want a mouse!" Thistlefur turned and shoved some herbs down his throat. He ahd no chose but to swallow. "Yuk! I hate herbs! Why did you do that?" Thistlefur turned to look at SIlerpelt. "Stubburnkit is done."
