Denjiro's Sickness

[Edward]

Den reached the entrance and, keeping his head down to try and not attract any attention to himself - made hard because of his blond mane and bright fur, crouched with his paws tucked underneath him and watched the shaman wolf carefully.

[Naruto]

Mori smiled at the young pup,moving silently into the den beside him. "Take a nest over there. I have some dove's feathers too,if you get cold." She nodded towards a gray pile of down in the corner. She had it positioned beside her herbs,because,if she needed to,she could mix thyme into the fluffy feathers to calm some wolves down.


"Tell me,how long have you had this illness?"she questioned,fishing her supplies out of a sort of shelf in her den.

[Edward]

Den looked up. This wolf clearly knew what she was doing, and that gave him some comfort. "Ages..." he replied, thinking back to when he was younger. "I used to go outside of camp to watch the humans" Den said cautiously, knowing he would be scolded for that, "And I started noticing it after I stopped going to watch them - they threw stuff at me and I decided to stay away after that." he remembered the adolescent humans throwing their thinkgs at him all too clearly and blinked.

Frost stepped into the den shaking the frosty snow from her cold paws. Her small body shivered but in her mouth she held some herbs, including Catmint.(ish dat wat wolves use?) She dropped the herbs and sat down beside Mori.
"That was not easy to find!" She mewed with a hint of amusment in her tone. The subordinate made it in to a small pile.
"You use it for Whitecough or Greencough don't you?" She asked. Noticing the visitor she turned around.
"Who are you?" Frost mewed kindly. She could tell he was about the same age as her although for her age she was quite small.

Den glanced up into Frost's eyes. "My name is Denjiro." he told the other wolf cub. "And you?" he stifled a cough and waited for an answer from the she-wolf. His blond mane falling over his eyes, he studied her carefully. She was about the same age as himself, but pretty small for it. She looked absolutely frozen; the frost was on her pelt and paws.

"I am Frost, shaman subordiante." She answered, "It's nice to meet you." She gave a small laugh.

(I has a really good plottage for Frost and Dejiro!)

[Naruto]

"Oh. Do you think the humans gave you this illness?"Mori questioned,her voice gentle. She nodded to her subordinate. "Thank you. We've been needing that for some time. Make a mental note of where you found it so we can get more."she instructed,looking away from the herbs for a moment.

[Cheesles]

"Yeah I know exactly where to find it, tomorrow when the snow has settled I will show you." She barked happily her tail wagging.

[Edward]

OOC: ooh!! tell me tell me!

IC: Den nodded. "It might have been that." he said to the shaman. Mori's voice was soft and gentle, and Den had never been talked to in that way before. Normally he heard the joking voice of his sister, and the loud, boisterous voices of Farrow and Edward as they argued and played. Denjiro turned back to the young wolf. "Nice to meet you, Frost." he smiled.

[Naruto]

Mori quickly grasped a bundle of fresh-smelling herbs in her jaws. "Here,eat some of this."she ordered,setting a few stems of the plant in front of the pup. "It's tansy. It will help you a lot if you have a cold or anything similar to a cold."

Frost listened and regestered what the herb was called and what it did when Mori gave it to Denjiro. "Does it do anything else?" She barked.

[Naruto]

"Not much else."Mori said,waving her tail. "Frost,can you get me some thyme? It smells sweet and relaxing. It will help Denjiro to rest for a little while. I don't want to use poppy seed;that would knock him out cold."

[Cheesles]

"Ok." Frost padded to the back of the den and fumbled around. She nosed through all the different piles scenting for the herb. Her tail wiggled as she searched. It suddenly stopped and her hea popped up. In her jaws, she lightly held some thyme.
"This it?" She barked setting them down for her mentor.

[Naruto]

"Yes! Thank you,Frost."Mori said happily,laying the herb down in front of Denjiro. "Eat up,young one."

[Cheesles]

Frost sat down beside her mentor and flicked a small bit of snow from behind her ear.

[Edward]

Den snatched up the herbs in his mouth, forcing himself to swallow it. It wasn't that it tasted particularly bad, but knowing it was medicine instantly sent up the childish habit of not wanting to eat it.

His body felt better after that, the scent of thyme soothing him and his throat feeling healthier for the herbs. He coughed a couple of times, but they weren't as harsh as the ones before.

[Naruto]

"How do you feel now?"Mori asked,eyes softening. "Do you think you need more thyme or tansy now?"

[Cheesles]

"If he is in pain poppy seeds would be good? They would help his troat if it was sore." Frost suggested.

[Edward]

Den smiled at the caring shaman wolf and her subordinate. "I feel calmer now..." he said quietly, "And my throat doesn't hurt as much." but he was pretty sure his illness couldn't be treated with tansy adn thyme alone, he could feel that it was more complex than that.

[Naruto]

"No. A little pain can be good,as we can see if he is healing well."Mori said quietly,eyes bright. "Denjiro,tell me,what are your other symptoms? I haven't seen a sickness like this in my time as shaman."

[Edward]

"Blood." Den said instantly. This was important. "Sometimes it's realy bad and blood comes with it. There's also a mild dizzyness and the back of my throat sometimes burns like it's on fire." he described how the cough had been recently, and then said, "When it first started happening it was like a cold kind of cough, or when there's dust in the air."

[Naruto]

Mori's eyes suddenly darkened. "Wait just a moment. I'm going to go and get some more herbs that might help more."

[Cheesles]

"No wait I can get them. What herbs are needed?" She barked standing up quickly. Her eyes shined eagerly. "It will help me learn." She barked hoping it would help. She felt a bit nervous around Denjiro. He's just a wolf! Same age just different gender! She reasurred herself. And training for warrior!

[Naruto]

"More thyme,and maybe feverfew."Mori said quickly.

[Cheesles]

"Ok!" She slowely galloped eagerly towards the back of the den. She grabbed a small bundle of thyme. She padded slowely back holding it gingerly in her jaws she dropped it and grabbed some feverfew taking that carefully back to Mori being careful not to gag at the herbs strong scent.
