Sickness takes hold(OPEN)

[Naruto]

A weak moan came from the nursery as Foxkit woke up,her eyes and nose streaming. She coughed a few times,then she sneezed. She had no idea that this sickness was the doing of a NightClan cat named Famine. Her whole body ached and she attempted to stand,but her legs gave out and she fell back into her nest,moss and bracken flying all over her pelt.

Kestrelkit shivered,his thin coat emitting an amazing heat from his fever. He was in the nest beside Foxkit's,and he noticed her fall. He leaped to his paws,alarmed,but then his head spun and he sank ungracefully back to his nest. He felt frozen,as if the cold leaf-bare winds had made his blood turn to ice.

OOC: Based on iron's post, I'm assuming Ivorykit was also affected, but if he answer no, then I'll just delete this post.

IC: Ivorykit coughed before shivering. "What-" she began before coughing again and she dropped her head to the floor, heat flowing off of her in waves. She curled into a ball, feeling incredibly cold, and she coughed hard. She tried to stand to move further into the back on the nursery, but ended up merely collapsing. She coughed for a good 5 minutes before she seemed to settle for a little bit, her breathing raspy from her raw throat.

[Wolvine]

Wolfkit closed his eyes and began to cough again. His blood felt cold but his body was hot, boiling hot. "Foxkit? Kestrelkit? Ivorykit?" He asked between coughs. He had heard them and knew they where awake. "Are you feeling as bad as I am?" He gasped for air and stopped talking, but kept coughing.

The only reply from Foxkit was a groan as she curled into a tiny ball,shivering. She looked completely helpless.

Kestrelkit nodded weakly. "Y-yes,"he sniffled,shuddering from cold. He crawled into Foxkit's nest,to keep both of them warm. He pressed his tabby pelt against her's,feeling a little warmer.

[Laddaustein]

Ivorykit shuddered. "I think-" she began before coughing, "I think I got sick because of me being mean..." she coughed again before crawling to the other kits. "I-" another cough interrupted her before she began again, "I'm sorry..."

[Wolvine]

"But thats impossible!" Wolfkit tried to stand, but then he fell down into a useless heap. "If it was you being mean, why are we affected? And you weren't that mean either..." His amber gaze swept across the den, wide with terror.

Tansykit opened his eyes at the loud coughing of the other kits. Immediately he felt hot and had an unsettling feeling in his stomach. He felt as if he'd throw up right at that moment, but nothing happened, and he was stuck with the agonizing feeling. His head pounded with pain, and he opened his mouth to let out a groan, but all that escaped was a cracked wheeze that sent pain through his throat. Tansykit didn't feel like moving, he didn't feel like talking, he didn't feel like doing anything, he just wanted to lay down and sleep, and he was very tired, but as many times as he closed his eyes the pleasure of dreams, where the pain couldn't get him, would never come.

Beekit coughed himself awake. His body shuddered violently as he opened his eyes. Without command he wrinkled his nose at the pungent smell of sickness that enveloped the nursery. His eyes widened and he stood up, but he quickly went back down with a wail of pain, feeling his legs aching as if they were clawed to the bone. His voice was hoarse and barely let out a sound. "I don't feel so well," he said in a whisper. Quickly, Beekit was surprised by his own voice. That was supposed to come out at a normal level. He let out a wail as loud as he could, hoping it wouldn't come as low as his voice, but it barely went any higher, and only sounded like a feeble whisper.

He looked around the nursery, seeing the other kits and quickly assessing that they weren't well either. They had to see a medicine cat. He wanted to get up and go out of the nursery, but as many times as he told his legs to stand themselves up and take him there, they just laid there almost as if they were inoperable, and a heavy fatigue befell him.

He glanced to his side to see Rosekit, the starry kit laying next to him, sleeping. He nudged him, wanting him to wake up, but he still lay there in his slumber, not even twitching at his touch.

Foxkit sneezed and looked at the other kits in her nest. "What are you doing?"she asked in a feeble growl. "You'll get yourselves sicker than you already are." She broke off with a cough and gasped;her throat felt like the thunderpath every time a breath rasped through it.

[Laddaustein]

Ivorykit coughed some more and she whimpered, "I'm so sorry..." and she curled up, trying to keep warm. Her tiny frame was racked by coughs.

OOC: Flints mom sat on them, and they were never heard from again.

ooc: poor queens. they didn't deserve for Flinty's mom to sit on them.

"I don't care if I die Foxkit, as long as I don't have to feel this horrible pain anymore." Wolfkit winced and stood up, his legs wobbling but not giving. "I'm going to find some help, and I don't care what you say." He began to cough, and his chest began to burn again then took a couple of feeble steps towards the exit before he fell. He gave a soft groan then stood up again. Each attempt to leave the den was weaker, but still he wouldn't stop. Eventually he fell to the ground, unable to stand again.

[Laddaustein]

Ivorykit groaned and crawled to Wolfkit. "No... I'll go... I think I'm strong enough to make it..." She tried to stand, collapsing, before standing again and managing to stumble out of the den and collapsing outside of the den. She weakly crawled back into the den and coughed. "I'm too weak... What can we do?"

[Wolvine]

"I'm going to go and find some help thats what we're going to do." Wolfkit began crawling towards the exit of the den. He stopped and groaned. "Well this is isn't working. What if we make a lot of noise? Do you think they would hear us?"

[Laddaustein]

Ivorykit nodded before managing to stand again and yowled at the top of her lungs, having to stop a lot to cough. She kept yowling until she collapsed, having a fit of coughs.

"What are you kits yowling about in here?" Feralpelt asked as she poked her head in the queenless nursery. Her lips curled back as the strong smell of sickness hit her nose and filled her nostils. He pelt prickled in alarm and she looked down at the kits. They all looked sick and weak. Tansykit lay in his nest, too weak to do anything, and Beekit just looked at her with sick eyes.

Quickly she pulled out, shocked and stunned. How had this happened!? Was leaf-bare already taking it's toll this early? If the kits were like this... what would happen to the rest of the clan? She let out a loud yowl that rang through the camp. "Someone get a medicine cat!"

OOC: *rolls eyes*

[Laddaustein]

Ivorykit coughed some more and weakly murmured, "StarClan help us..." She looked up, her vision blurring before she fell unconsious.

"Ivorykit!?" Feralpelt said in a panicked tone. The kit was down and who knew what would happen to the others. Would Ivorykit die? Would the other kits die? She didn't know, and she couldn't think calmly;

Quickly she turned around to the warriors den and ran inside. "Silver.." What was it? Uh... uh... Tail. Whisker. Foot. Face. Ear. Leap. Feather. Flight. Uh.. uh... Jump. Star. S... Star? Er.. Pelt. YEAH! PELT! PELT! "pelt! Silverpelt! I need your help! The kits! They're in trouble!"

[Naruto]

Foxkit whimpered,hearing the panic in the older she-cat's voice. "We're gonna be OK,right?"she asked faintly,lifting her head. All of the kits were sick,and she wrinkled her nose and sneezed at the foul smell of disease in the den.

[Laddaustein]

Silverpelt removed her face from Dustclaw's shoulder. She looked at Feralpelt, trying to control herself. "I know... I saw it happen... But..." She shook her head. "No... I'll come to the nursery." She ran out of the warriors den and ran into the nursery, gasping as she sees Ivorykit unconsious. "Oh no..." She checks to see if Ivorykit was still breathing, and she was, before licking the wrong way. Ivorykit coughed and opened her eyes, still somewhat blind.

[Wolvine]

Wolfkit had hidden his head as the panicky she-cats ran in, nearly knocking him over. Now he exploded in a round of coughing before curling up and letting out a small whine.

[Laddaustein]

Silverpelt finished working with Ivorykit, who weakly murmured a thank-you, and she sighed. "Great StarClan, am I glad I memorized herbs..." She looked at Feralpelt. "Do you know what the various herbs look like?" she hissed, trying to keep panic out of her voice.
