Sunny Morning [OPEN]

[Cheesles]

A grey bundle of fur streaked across the clearing. It stopped just beside the fresh kill pile and striking green eyes filled with awe looked up at the mound of prey. The pretty kit closed her eyes and lifted her nose to draw in the wonderful scents of the fresh kill. She turned, she could here her sister coming.

[Bumblebee~*]

A silver she-kit headed for the fresh-kill pile, her emerald eyes downcast, clouded with worry. Then, her whiskers twitched as a familiar scent caught her nose, mingling with the enticing scent of fresh-kill. Melodykit! She was safe from the earthquake!

Her eyes clearing like the sun coming out after a storm as she joined her sister, selecting a vole from the fairly small pile. "Melody!" She murmured, her voice quiet and cracked from disuse.

[Cheesles]

"Joy!" Melody mewed cheerfully. Then looking at her sister vole she mewed, "Why don't we share? It would save some fresh kill for the elders!"

"AND QUEENS!!!" Came a happy screech as Darkkit barreled towards them. He leapt onto Joykits back, hoping that he wouldn't receive and a scratch from the feisty she cat.

OOC: They should be mates when they're older, Joy should hate Dark at first.

[Bumblebee~*]

Joykit nodded. She usually picked the smallest piece of fresh-kill she could find and ate it by herself, but she decided she would like to share with her sister this time. Especially since she thought she'd lost her during the earthquake.

The silver-grey she-cat was about to take a bite out of the vole when a furball decided to attach itself to her back. Suppressing a hiss, she twisted and pinned whoever-it-was-kit to the ground by his throat, moving quickly, silently, and efficiently. Her green eyes flashing, she recognized which mouse-brain it was. Darkkit.

OOC: LOL that'd be funny. But newsflash... Joy hates everyone. XD Well, except for Melody. But still.

Sunpaw chuckled from Melodykit's side. "Hello," he meowed. He loved to watch the young kits play.

[Bumblebee~*]

Joykit looked up from where she was; crushing Darkkit with her hindquarters, a paw on his throat. Her eyes glittered maliciously for a heartbeat, but she forced herself to hide it. Was that amusement in his eyes? She suppressed a growl. They weren't playing! That mangy furball attacked her!

"What's wrong Joykit?" he asked, seeing the anger in the kit's eyes.

[Bumblebee~*]

Wrong? Oh, nothing! Nothing at all! She would have loved to deliver a stinging reply, but she satisfied herself with a shake of her head. With a last glare at Darkkit, she got off and started to tear at the vole, then pushed it at her sister, appetite gone.

OOC: Cheese, want Dark to like her from the start? He can be all pushy and then Joy can give in at the end. XD It would be a good long-term relationship thingayy.

OOC: There is already a Firestorm, mine! And yeah, a Sandstorm/Fireheart thing would be good, except she's like Fireheart and He's like Sandstorm.

Darkkit looked crushed at the way Joykit had not acknowledged him. He shook himself and padded over to her. "Can I have some?" He mewed kindly.

[Bumblebee~*]

Joykit nodded curtly. He could have some if Melodykit wanted to share it with him. It was hers now anyways; she didn't want to eat anymore, anyways. She padded a little further away from the fresh-kill pile and washed her paws silently, Darkkit's gaze burning her sleek grey pelt.

OOC: *looks at all of the OOC* ... Honey is a smart gal. *nods*

Luckykit heared her brother's voice and darted over to him. "Darkkit!", she mewed. She saw him at the fresh-kill pile. "Wanna share?",she asked him. "Oh, and hi Melodykit, Joykit.", she added.

[Bumblebee~*]

Joykit heard another kit approach, barely acknowledging the greeting directed to her. What's up with all these happy-go-lucky cats? She grumbled to herself. Well, they weren't exactly happy-go-lucky... but it was close enough.

She lay down where she was, and looked over at them, her striking green gaze flickering over each cat. Melodykit. The complete opposite of me... yet she's my best friend. I almost wish I could be like her... She shook away the wistful feeling and glanced over to Sunpaw. Annoying, bubbly, thinks he's so superior just because he's an apprentice... She rolled her eyes and flicked her glare over to Luckykit. Equally bubbly... seems to actually like Darkkit... She gazed over at said kit. And Darkkit. An annoying overly energetic furball who seems to think my back is a giant mouse. Does he have thistledown for brains? She hissed and padded over to a shadowier part of the camp to lie down and rest.

Eaglekit spotted Joykit moving away from the others. She looked angry for some reason. He had always liked Joykit, maybe it was because she was different from the others, more serious. With his tail held low, he walked cautiously towards her. "What's the matter?" He asked rather cheerfully. Before he had an answer he plopped down beside her.

Frostkit padded towards the fresh-kill pile rather sheepishly. She didn't know how the other kits would take her arrival. Most of them didn't really like her..

Joykit opened one eye as she heard Eaglekit approaching. She sighed and got up, rather clumsily, noticing how the tom's voice was guarded. "Nothing." She mewed, flicking her ear dismissively. They're all so... cheerful! She didn't know how that was a problem, but sometimes she felt like a beetle amongst a world of fireflies.
