Thrushflame's brief moment of confusion cleared. He turned around, facing Hollyfrost, "Only when they become warriors." he almost grinned, almost.

Houndclaw's ears twitched, and he bit back an insult. It wouldn't be wise to start a fight on his first day as a warrior.

Brightpaw sat at the edge of the clearing, away from all the other cats. She watched the new warriors jealously. "No," she said to no one. "My time will come." she calmed herself. She was trying ignore the fact that Mudp--Mudfoot was ignoring her.
"Well, that's because you're all the way over here." she snorted. Again, to herself. "And he's all the way over there."
But she stayed in place, unwilling to get caught up in all the new-warrior-euphoria and get tangled with other cats trying to congratulate them.

Hollyfrost caught the irritation in Houndclaw's eyes and flicked his ear with her tail. "Oh really?" she replied to her old mentor, raising one-if cat's had one- eyebrow.

Thrushflame's face became sober once more, catching the irritation feeling of Houndclaw as if it were the stench of crow-food. "No, not really." he looked at the tom. "Congratulations."
