"Of course we know how to pounce. We aren't newborns." Who didn't know how to pounce? It was as basic as breathing. Really, the only cats who wouldn't know how to pounce are the ones who can't walk yet.

Griffinshade smiled. "Do you?" He gave them some space. "Pounce on me." he ordered.

Kestrelpaw sighed. Now they were doing pointless things. He stayed crouched and focused on Griffinpaw, calculating ditances, even if he wasn't sure how much that would help. He kept his eyes on him, scanning over the tom. He waited for the right time to pounce, even if he was just standing there.

[Goldenstorm]

Griffinshade sat down, looking at Kestrelpaw. "Come on, pounce on me." he meowed at him.

"I'll pounce when I feel like it," he growled. He was considering everything. He already had an idea of this whole thing. Besides, he wasn't going to let Griffinshade goad him into pouncing before he was ready.

Griffinshade rolled his eyes and waited. His rump was starting to get a bit chilled.

Foxpaw listened boredly while Griffonshade explained all these things and asked Kestrelpaw to pounce at him. Waiting for her turn.

Kestrelpaw's eyes moved to Foxpaw. "Well aren't you going to pounce or something." He didn't expect her to actually be smart enough to take things into consideration since she, unlike him, hasen't trained once.

[Naruto]

"He didn't ask me to." Foxpaw replied, curling her tail over her paws. Jeez. This training was- she didn't dare say it aloud- boring. Every cat in the Clans knew how to pounce. Why wasn't he teaching them how to fight instead?

"Fine then. Since you want to be so annoying about it." Goodness. Whenever you have a plan, no one complies with it. He tensed himself and, with a great leap of semi-accuracy, he attempted his pounce at Griffinshade. Already predicting failure.

[Goldenstorm]

Griffinshade quickly moved out of the way, sitting a few fox-lengths away. "Would you like to try, Foxpaw?" he narrowed his eyes, sensing the she-cats boredom.

Foxpaw looked up at her mentor, eyes shining. "I thought you'd never ask!" She sprang at him near immediately, her paws outstretched.

What a surprise. Kestrelpaw rolled his eyes. He knew Griffinshade would do that, that's why he wanted Foxpaw to go first, so he could intercept her, but no, she was so annoying she couldn't just do it. "Can I eat now?" Even if he was starting to participate, it didn't seem like he was actually listening.

[Goldenstorm]

Griffinshade dodged Foxpaw's as well. "Not quite yet. Just hold your belly for a few more minutes." he almost rolled his eyes, he was just a bit irritated, but not as much as his last training session with Kestrelpaw.
He sat down. "That's what a toad or frog will do to you if you try to pounce on them. You have to imagine where they'll be, where they'll try to escape before they do. That's what you have to aim for." he told both of them.

"What if they just sit there and you hop right over them?" Kestrelpaw asked him in an annoyed tone. He just wanted to eat. Why ddi anger fuel his day? He didn't even need to do this. He alreay knew what a frog did. He had a good idea on how to catch one too.

[Goldenstorm]

Griffinshade shrugged. "I never met a frog that did that. I guess you just swipe your paw at it. You could swipe both of your paws, one after another, if it tried to dogde the first. I guess." the warrior looked up, swiping his paws, claws out, testing his new move.

Oh great. "Oh look. I have a mentor that doesn't even know te aspects of hutning a frog." Goodness. How was he supposed to learn from someone he didn't know. This instance made him quit the training right then and there. This is why they were supposed to be taught by experianced warriors, not ones fresh from the basket.

He walked back to the pile and grabbed his mouse. Yeah, this was pretty much over.

Griffinshade growled. "I don't think you of all cats should be talking, your the one who almost lost his pelt to a robin." he snarled at the sarcastic cat.

Kestrelpaw growled through his mouse. "I got a scratch. I barely call that an entire pelt." He laid down and took a bite, happy to actually get something into his hungry stomach. There seemed to be nothing in there at the moment. Well, actually, there was now.

[Goldenstorm]

Griffinshade snorted, "Only because I killed it before it could make your pelt into nesting supplies." he spat back. He was fed up with this tom's attitude. Cloudfrost was right, this cat was way too much like him.

"You mean you killed it before you even gave me a chance to kill it, right?" He took another bite of the mouse. Griffinshade never seemed to give him a chance. It was more yelling and swiping for this cat. He hated being with him.

[Goldenstorm]

"I imagine you were there for quite a while with all the pecks on your head." he growled back. Griffinshade loved winning arguments, it was almost as fun as fighting. He glared at his apprentice, not believing that he was actually taking fresh-kill when he himself didn't even bring in a scrap of prey.

"I was there for a minute," he growled. He finished his meal in twomore bites, fed up with being around him. He stood up, not bothering to bury his meal or put it up in any way. "I'm going to sleep." He hissed before padding to the apprentice's den.

[Snigger]

Bearpaw let out a yowl when Kestrelpaw stepped on his tail. He lept out his nest, yanking his tail out from under under Kestrelpaw's paw, with fur sticking on end. Really at this time of day he should be out, but he was protesting because of the weather. "Watch where you put your paws!" he hissed.

[Naruto]

Foxpaw sat through the entire argument, her eyes wide. "Wow..." she growled, scraping her claws against the ground. She stood up. "Griffinshade, I'm going to go and try to hunt. OK?"
