Mudpaw Hunts (OPEN)

[Mosspaw]

Mudpaw pounded across Fireclan territory, until he reached Fallen Trees. He stopped, and listened, but he could only hear the roar of rain hitting the ground. It had begun raining heavier now, and he couldn't get any wetter. He looked around, and saw a leafy tree that had fallen down, surprised that it had survived leaf-bare, this had to be the perfect spot for prey to hide in this weather. All of the other trees were completely bare, or had needles, which the rain dropped straight through. Mudpaw lowered himself to the ground, and stalked through the mud, toward the tree. As he expected, prey scent filled his nose, three different types. He smelled mouse, rabbit, and a scent that he hadn't smelled for the whole of leaf-bare. What was it? He sniffed harder, but his nose was fooled by the water.

Mudpaw looked through the twist of branches and leaves, and found a long brown furry thing, that looked preoccupied eating something. He charged forward toward it, and quickly sank his teeth into its back, killing it. There was rustling all around him, and he saw a few mice, rabbits, and... Squirrels! That was what the furry thing was! He chased after the mice, knowing that they were the slowest of the three, and ended up on the trail of one. He flew after his prey, and quickly sliced a claw through its back.

Mudpaw was already out of breath, and he had a few small scratches on his legs from the tree, so he decided to head back. He picked up his mouse, and went back and retrieved the squirrel, before starting back to camp, he now had a place to hunt, that there would always be prey. He figured that this could be a secret hunting place for him, as long as prey didn't migrate to a new nest.

Brightpaw padded lightly through the undergrowth. "Mudpaw!" she called, looking every which way. She could just barely catch his scent on the ferns he must have brushed on his way through the territory. The rain was making everything smell like grassy mud.
"Well, that's pretty much what it is, Brightpaw." she muttered to herself, moving further into the territory.

Amberpaw padded from the bushes with a large chaffinch in her jaws.
"I just caught this, I've been hunting for awhile without success, untill I caught this." She mewed through the feathers. The lay the bird under a bush and scratched dirt over

OOC: Well we had some nice conversation going on here. Oh well, back to threadland.

Mudpaw turned up at the sound of his name being called, and saw Brightpaw standing in the rain. He put his prey down and replied, "Hey, I'm over here!" He approached the she-cat, and asked, "What are you doing all the way out here?" The small cuts on him were still bleeding some, but the rain quickly washed it away.

[DOCTA OCTAGONAPUS]

She whipped her head around at his voice, straining her ears to hear him over the loud rain. She shook her fur as he padded over, only to get completely soaked again within seconds. "What else?" she mewed. "Looking for you." she glanced past his shoulder at the prey he'd set down and then back at him.
"Hunting? In this weather? Pshh." she chuckled. "I'll help you get more, if you want. Maybe if we bring back loads of prey, Houndpaw will be jealous."

[Mosspaw]

"Houndpaw would be jealous if I left the camp, let alone if we came back to the cave with a mountain of prey." Mudpaw meowed, and looked at the prey. "I think it would be better if we didn't bury the prey with this mud, we wouldn't be able to find it." He suggested, looking around for somewhere to hide the prey. He saw another tree, this one looked like it was dangling on its last roots, but there was a gap between the uprooted trunk and the ground. "I'll go and put the prey there, then we should start searching for prey, they'll probably be on the run for shelter from the rain." He suggested, quickly scanning the area for prey, before bounding over to the tree, and tossing the prey into the gap. "Alright, let's go." He meowed, stepping to the she-cat's side.

[DOCTA OCTAGONAPUS]

Brightpaw nodded, waited for him to hide his kill. As he reappeared, she led the way back into the soggy undergrowth. "Where'd you find that squirrel?" she asked. "There's probably plenty more where it came from." she stayed close enough to Mudpaw for her shoulder to brush his, glad to share his company.

OOC: THROWIN IN KESTREL. NAO!

Kestrel's white pelt was streaked with mud. His belly fur stroked the ground, and his golden eyes where fixed on a small mouse, its ears perked. He froze, watching its reaction. It flicked its ears, then relaxed. Kestrel slunk forwards again, but suddenly he heared voices, and the mouse darted away. He gave a deep growl, and turned to look over at the apprentices that had disturbed his game.

IC: Mosspaw turned around to the sound of a deep growl, only to see the ugliest cat he'd ever seen. Its fur was ungroomed, and they reeked of bile, along with the various different ugly features on its face. In fact, he couldn't even tell if it was a boy or girl, but he didn't care. He let out a furious hiss, and stood in a battle-ready stance, fur bristling. "What do YOU want?" He growled at the cat, not being his usual, mellow self. He could tell that this cat was nothing but trouble, so he would bring nothing but trouble to them. He saw a mouse bolt away, but left it. His hunting would have to wait, this was the battle to prove that he was ready to be a warrior, since both he and Brightpaw were nearing their warrior ceremony.

OOC: Only like a week away 'til Mudpaw becomes a warrior

IC: He would have to prove himself to Brightpaw, too, that he was twice as strong as he was when they last went out hunting with each other, and to any warrior that they were strong enough to take any cat on.

Brightpaw jumped at Mudpaw's snarl. She whipped her head around, thinking she'd find a fox or a badger. But it was just a big white and black cat.
Still a threat, nonetheless.
She turned and stood beside Mudpaw, hackles raised. Brightpaw growled slightly. "Who are you?" she said. "Why are you in FireClan territory?

ooc: wow, is it really that close? (warriorness, I mean) *dances*

"What do you mean who am I fox-brain? I'm your clannmate!" Kestrel rolled his eyes, laughter glittering in them.

OOC: If you are a clanmate, then WHY THE HECK IS UR NAME KESTREL!?! Your character is violating Sector A, subsector AB, section 14, "Clan cats may only have 2 words in them." (I wonder why Memmer even approved that name, but oh well... This thread is going to get confusing, therefore, *Points at Doc Oc* It ish your turn, I'm not going to post first, except for this.

IC: Mudpaw let out a deep growl, he only saw the ugliest, dirtiest, smelliest cat in the forest, not one of HIS clanmates. "You still haven't answered my question," Mudpaw hissed, "Who are you?"
