Wandering In The River(Titan)

Thrushflame stopped at the river that marked the DarkClan and FireClan border. He stepped one paw into the water briskly, retreating it immediately. That wasn't so bad... he thought. He dipped his leg into the crisp water. So far so good. He moved deeper into the blue depths. Eventually he was standing in it. Standing in the shallows, he saw fish, plenty of them. He decided fish would be good as any other prey for the Clan. He dove for one, unsuccesful, he rose back up to the surface. He stay standing there, oblivious of the chilling wind and frozen snow.

Maplepaw was sinister as she was vicious, prowled the border between DarkClan and FireClan, ever since they had appeared at the gathering in full force, Nightstar had thought of them as more of a threat, and she was one of the ones sent on border patrols. In this cold weather she was almost frozen solid, but she guessed that what you get for having such a thin pelt in the middle of a snow storm. She was obviously in a bad mood, and it only increased to just sheer rage when she saw the tom, apparently trying to fish in the river border their two clans. Even though he was on his side of the border, Maplepaw saw fit to beat some sense into the fool.

Disappearing into the shadows, she slowly stalked in the darkness, slipping past the river into FireClan, their scent swallowing her, she was just thankful that he was downwind so her scent wouldn't carry to him. Maplepaw slunk on the snowy ground, until she was almost upon the tom, she unsheathed her black claws that stunk with the smell of blood. Her pelt flared up more than normal, and her ears flattened back. Though she was so much smaller than Thrushflame, she had the advantage of surprise. Not too mention battle skills.

She pounced, flying at the tom without so much as a yowl. If her strike worked she would easily off-balance the foolish FireClan tom, and pinning him to the ground, or into the shallow end of the water. Her snarling face an inch from his.

Thrushflame felt a heavy wait land on him, along with sharp pains. He scented quickly, a cat. He jumped up in the air, bucking furiously. He had the advantage now, he was a fully trained warrior.

Maplepaw flew through the air, as Thrushflame's back legs connected with her chest. But she wasn't some newbie apprentice, she twisted in mid-air, successfully landing on her paws, swinging around to face her opponent. Her petite frame highlighted her sinewy muscles as she circled her opponent. Her sharp white fangs glistened with bloodlust, her claws constantly gouging into the dirt. The anticipation to fight was just too much for her. At any second she just might fly through the air and maul the young warrior.

"Why do you dare hunt so close to our territory, isn't there enough prey farther away. We don't need your scent wafting down to our camp. She growled menacingly, her narrowed dark brown eyes blazing with a slight tinge of red.

"Unless your blind, any cat could see your on my territory now." Thrushflame snarled before lunging at Maplepaw with deadly accuracy. He was going to tackle the mere kit with pure brawn.

"Do I look like I care?" Maplepaw licked her whiskers as the tom flew through the air after her. She leaped to the side, avoiding being crushed by the tom. Sometimes it paid to be small and fast. She landed off to the side of the tom, with a smirk. "Is this what they're teaching you in FireClan? Pathetic." she growled, sheathing her claws, like she would needed those things in this fight, just a flick of her wrist and she could have him split open on the ground. That wasn't a threat, that was a promise.

"And what threat can you possibly be to me? I'm being easy on you." Thrushflame spat at the young she-cat. She was pretty for a DarkClan cat.

"You haven't even laid a claw on me yet." growled Maplepaw, calmly licking her fur, waiting for the tom just to try and attack, the slightest move and she would be tensed for battle. The angrier she made her opponent the more likely he would make a mistake.

"What damage have you done to me? I feel as strong as a leader would in the middle of New-Leaf. How about you, you scrawny excuse for an apprentice?" Thrushflame retorted. He knew what the cat was trying to do. Smart cat.

Maplepaw stopped in mid-lick, "Scrawny?" instantly her fluffed up, and she took a step forward, then stopped, as if reconsidering her attack. But then as quick as a flash she moved towards the tom, her claws kicking up tufts of dirt and snow, but instead of a frontal attack, she flashed to the side, dragging her claw across his flank in the process, if this succeeded, her paw would flash onto his face, creating a long craggy scar on his face.

Thrushflame had succeeded. He threw up his hind leg, getting it in the way of his adversary. She would hopefully run into his leg, then he would make his move, quickly.

If only Maplepaw was a little bit bigger, than Thrushflame's little trick would of work, but the skinny apprentice, easily darted below the raised hind leg, jumping at the cats side, her claws aiming to meet Thrushflame's neck, and the other on his back. Her fangs opening wide to latch onto his stomach and push him to the ground. And hopefully pin him there so she could send him limping home. Even though her reason for fighting was completely unfounded, she still loved the sensation she got with victory.

Thrushflame took on the apprentice, her weight lightly on his back. He rolled into the water, his back under. He would let her go after she let her claws out of his pelt.

Maplepaw's head jerked from the water, but her claws remained hooked in the cats flesh. Only one of her paws were under water now. Her face was soaked, and anger blazed on her pelt. This cat fought dirty, almost as dirty as DarkClan cat, she opened her mouth wide again, gaping fangs, attempting to pierce the forepaw of Thrushflame. Her free claw continued to slash at the throat of the tom, trying to kill him or severly wound him.

Thrushflame stood again, keeping his throat out of the cat's reach. He felt a sharp pain in his paw as the she-cat bit it. He clamped his mouth shut and let anger take over. He whipped his head around and tried to chomp down on the apprentice's paw.

Maplepaw was tossed to land was the tom rose from the water knocking her off of him. She landed soggy with water over her pelt. And as his mouth opened wide to clamp down on her paw, she scratched out wildly at the toms muzzle and open mouth. This fight was getting to be a little too exhausting for her taste, already she was wet, and her pelt was weighing her down, and in this cold it was never a good thing. She was just glad she wasn't bleeding.

Thrushflame growled. This was getting agrivating. He was a little suprised though, this cat fought like a FireClan cat. Fierce and brave. He stepped back, "Go." he snarled.
