Naruto growled but didn't jerk away,her eyes full of anger. Itachi had caused Sasuke so much pain,and she wanted to rip his life out. She felt protective over her friend,strangely so. She unsheathed and sheathed her claws repeatedly,gouging the ground as a low snarl emerged from her throat.

Naruto moved closer to Sasuke,anger making her fur stand on end. "Do we have to fight him? What if the RiverClan cats get involved?"she hissed softly,worry filling her voice. She didn't want anyone (But Itachi) to get hurt.

Sasuke rolled his eyes. "You do know that he isn't trying to fight us..." He muttered, twitching his tail. The tom's dull gaze sweeped across the other cats. He rested his gaze on the tree once again, irritated by his brother's current silence.

Naruto froze before glaring back. "I've only been a hindrance to them. I want to repay them,I guess." Her words were true. Even when she'd been in RiverClan,she'd never done anything right. She only got in the way. Her sisters and Deathpaw deserved better than her.

Deathpaw growled softly. He could feel that something was wrong, that they were in danger. He took a step back then shook his head. He could not show fear to whatever it was that was attacking them. "I'm no coward." He spat, half to himself. The brown tabby tensed and looked around, ears pricked. He would fight this thing, even if it cost him his life.

Sasuke sighed. "Idiot... That's what Itachi wants you to show... False emotion..." Sasuke shot a dull glare over at Deathpaw.

Itachi smirked from the tree he was in. "Well, then... I best show myself..." The black tom dropped from the tree, landing on his paws. His blood red eyes scanned the cats. Pathetic... "Sasuke... Why don't you just come over here with your girlfriend... Then, I wont have any trouble killing off these pathetic excuses for Riverclan Apprentices and Medicine Cat Apprentice..."

Sasuke grunted. There was no fighting Itachi for him, for he would die... So, he followed his commands. Sasuke flicked his tail at Naruto, signaling for her to follow, and stood by her older brother. "You were a pathetic excuse for a Riverclan warrior before, Brother..." He muttered.

Naruto growled softly and held her head high as she padded behind Sasuke. "I'm not his girlfriend,"she hissed,casting a glare at Sasuke. Heck,they barely had anything in common!

"What do you want?"she asked,narrowing her eyes and turning back to Itachi. "You guys missed your chance to run,ya know that right?"she called over her shoulder,her voice disinterested. They'd thrown themselves at Itachi's paws,for StarClan's sake!

Sasuke grunted when that pig-headed fool, Deathpaw, spoke again. It's your funeral...

Itachi smirked, twitching his jet-black tail. The tom's blood red eyes locked on Deathpaw. "Ah... It seems we have a little jealous kit, here..." The tom leaped so fast, it was somewhat hard to see him. He landed just beside Deathpaw, a small smirk plastered on his face. "You seem to have a little crush on Naruto, eh? You used to love her, but since she went off with my younger brother, you wish to kill her now... Am I correct?" Itachi whispered this into Deathpaw's ear, making sure that it wasn't able to be heard by the other cats.

Deathpaw growled softly as the strange cat landed next to him. "What do you want?" He whispered back. He tensed for what was prehaps the millionth time that day, his hackles raised. He was not sure how this cat knew so much, even if it was slightly incorrect, but it unnerved him.

Itachi smirked as he saw Naruto's face when he barely glanced up. Very well, then... The tom unsheathed his claws, raising one of them, and slashed down at Deathpaw's back. He used most-all of his force in this move he made up. Since Deathpaw didn't move when he came, he became close enough for this attack. If this attack succeeds, which it was a 99.999% since it was such close range, then Deathpaw will be left paralized for a moon. He wasn't going to kill the apprentice, but he wanted to see the anger and hatred of Naruto and Sasuke, who seems to not really care, flair.

Deathpaw saw the claw go up, but his speed was never going to match Itachi's. He winced and fell back as it hit him and he fell down. If only I hadn't moved. He cursed himself. The blow had missed his back but had caught him on the neck. His mistake could prove to be fatal.

Itachi smirked when he hit Deathpaw's neck. Even if he was aiming to paralyze him by hitting his spine, the neck was good, too. This would kill him if the Apprentice didn't get help soon. Itachi wiped his bloody paw on Deathpaw's flank and dissappeared into the shadows.

Naruto felt rage melt away the cold lump of terror in her belly,and she snarled,her eyes growing dark. "Sasuke,we can't let him get away with this." She didn't recognize her own voice,it was so full of hatred and fury and...Power. Her claws dug deep furrows into the ground as she looked down,trying to imagine that she was ripping into Itachi's black pelt. Looking up,she growled,"I will kill him,if it's the last thing I do!"

Just let your little Medicine Cat Apprentice sister, Spiralpaw, take care of all of this..." With that, the tom turned to leave. This place bored him. His brother took all of the fun away. Sasuke disappeared into the shadows, just like his brother. He didn't wait for Naruto, for he knew that she'd want to help that pathetic little Deathpaw.

Naruto snarled again and plunged into the undergrowth after Sasuke,her neck fur fluffing up. "Don't you want to go after him?!"she demanded,sprinting to stand in front of her friend. Her eyes still gleamed with fury but a dull,hollow quality now made them gleam like stars.
