Shadowclaw limped into the medicine cats den and colapsed in the nearest nest. His paw ached and he could bearly walk on it. Some days before he had been hunting and had acidently stepped on a thorny branch that had fallen from a tree and when he stepped on it he felt two or three small, sharp pains that went away instantly. But when he had woken that morning his paw was throbbing. He thought it would go away but instead it got worse and now it was almost unbearable. He managed to give a small yowl that notified the medicine cat.
