Dropping Off Prey Empty Dropping Off Prey

Post by .:Jaywing:. Fri Jun 04, 2010 1:50 pm

Fernpaw padded into camp carrying a dead rabbit. Her fur was soaked from hunting in the rain, but her eyes were glowing with pride at her catch. She dropped her rabbit on the fresh-kill pile and layed down beside it. She briefly closed her eyes, exhausted from the hunt. I'm going to have to have more stamina if I'm going to be a warrior Fernpaw thought to herself. She sighed deeply; the road to being a warrior seemed long and hard, and she wasn't sure if she was strong enough to make it. She was determind to keep trying, though. I wonder what my parents would say if they were still here.. Fernpaw thought sadly. The depressing reminder that they were gone made her feel like there was a boulder in her stomach. I can't think about that! What kind of warrior would I be if I kept worrying about them all the time? She thought angerly, forcing the thoughts out of her head. Then, Fernpaw sat up and began grooming herself, mind clouded with worry about being a warrior.

Riverpaw padded into the camp, shaking raindrops from her fur. Her thick pelt stopped most of the rain getting through. She droped her plump vole on the fresh-kill pile and sat down beside Fernpaw. "Is something troubling you?" she questioned.

"Oh...nothing really," Fernpaw mewed, startled from her thoughts. "Hey....do you ever wonder what it would be like to be a warrior?" Fernpaw asked as casually as she could manage. Her gaze then wondered to the mouth of the cave, where she saw an endless sheet of rain cover the entrance.

"Yeah, sometimes. I think about the ceremony, watching the stars and knowing our ancsestors are looking down at us at our vigil, getting an apprentice!" Riverpaw answered, her voice getting slightly louder with excitement. She calmed down in a heartbeat and looked at the rain, her ear twitching at the ceaseless pattering. "Do you?"

"Yea, and I know it'll be great, but..." Fernpaw mewed, her voice trailing away. "It just seems so hard to become a warrior!" She exploded suddenly, her stress tying knots in her stomach. "I mean, how many times can you mess up before you can't become a warrior? And what if you talk during the vigil? It just seems so impossible!" Fernpaw said loudly, her worries pouring out to Riverpaw. She had been so stressed lately, and she wanted to talk to someone besides Blazepaw. Blazepaw was the best brother she could wish for, but he could be so....pessimistic. She sighed, trying to calm herself down before she embarrassed herself.

"Don't worry, Fernpaw. No-one can keep you from being a warrior. You won't talk in your vigil. Being a warrior isn't about the vigil. It's about serving the clan and serving StarClan, repaying them for all they have done for us. You arent a warrior just because of your ceremony. You are a warrior because of what you belive in. Nothing can ever change that." Riverpaw meowed comfortingly.

OOC: Yea, there are. but cuz the other fernpaw's gonna die during apprenticement, cheese and flint (I think it was flint....we talked about it in the chat..) let me keep the name. for now. But just in case, nobody take the name Heatherpaw.

"I guess your right. Well, I know you'll be a good warrior, you know exactly what it takes!" Fernpaw mewed. Her stomach growled in hunger, and she took her rabbit off the fresh-kill pile, preparing to eat it. But right before she took a bite, she remembered that kits and elders had to be feed before apprentices. "Hey Riverpaw, want to deliver this to the nursury with me?" Fernpaw asked, picking up the piece of prey in her jaws.

"Ok!" Fernpaw mewed happily, trotting towards the nursery.

OOC: Do you want me to make a thread in the nursery, or do you want to just pretend they dropped off the prey?

Fernpaw padded out of the nursery, seeing that the queens enjoyed the prey. She felt happy to be serving her clan, forgetting about her worries at the fresh-kill pile.

"Yea....but it's raining, so it probably wouldn't be the best training session ever," Fernpaw chuckled. Training did sound fun, but right now Fernpaw was tired. She didn't quite want to go to sleep, but she'd rather just rest around the cave. So she layed down on her side close to the apprentice's den. She stared up at the roof of the cave, studying the sharp rocks that hung from it.

OOC: A bit more muse......uugh I have nothing to do with ferneh and blazeh.

"I suppose you're right..." smiled Riverpaw. She followed Fernpaw's gaze up to the roof of the cave. "I wonder if those have ever fallen on someone," she stated, hoping they wouldn't fall on anyone anytime soon.

OOC: Thank you! =3 Does that mean I have supah awesome ninja powers nao? *.*

Fernpaw froze at Riverpaw's comment. "Yea.......I bet all kind of rocks fall on cats," Fernpaw murmured, half to herself. Then, she suddenly looked down, angry at the black pit of depression that was rising up in her yet again. No! Not now! I have to get over myself! I have to be strong! She thought, frustrated. But now the blackness was tainting her thoughts, as she replayed the scene after the accident in her head. Fernpaw scraped the ground with her claws, as if she was trying to get a grip on reality. She tried her best to push her thoughts away, but she couldn't keep the cloudy haze of depression out of her eyes.
