Herb Sorting is boring - open

[LEN KAGAMINE]

It was late evening, and Lostpaw, who was now Thunderclan's only medicine cat, was sorting through the herbs. There had been a random earthquake, and it scattered all of her herbs. The blind she-cat sniffed around on the ground until her nose hit something smushed and round. "Well... There goes another Juniper Berry." Her voice was sour, but that was to be expected when your mentor, who was never really doing her job, dies and leaves you with the clan's health on your shoulders. The blind apprentice needed to become a full medicine cat so she could have an apprentice to help her with all of this, but the next medicine cat meeting was a while away, so she had to stick with sorting herbs and cleaning up on her own. Her tail swept along the ground, sweeping the squished berry into a small pile of other destroyed herbs.

[Naruto]

A small ball of ginger-and-gray fluff bounced into the medicine den in a flurry of paws and tail. Squirrelkit, Raindapple's daughter, had come to see Lostpaw. Just for a random reason, too. She wanted to know what it was like to be Medicine Cat. Not that she'd ever want to be one. Their job seemed boring. Just looking at leaves all day. Peh. "Lostpaw!" she chirped in her normal happy tone.

[LEN KAGAMINE]

Lostpaw's pelt prickled at the cheerful chirp that came from behind her. She waited til her fur flattened before answering the kit's call. "Yes, Squirrelkit? What is it?" The blind she-cat turned around and stared straight at the kit, almost as if she could see her.

[Naruto]

Squirrelkit was undaunted by Lostpaw's blindness. "Hey, what's it like to be a medicine cat?" she asked bluntly, tipping her head to the side. She didn't pity the apprentice, like most everyone else did. She respected her. After all, her mentor had died in the quake and she wasn't even grieving about it! Didn't bat an eye. Maybe sorting herbs all day gives you some sort of special power or something!

Dovekit pranced into the medicine cat den, right on her sister's tail. She leaped up, her short white legs barely getting any air and aimed for her sister's narrow shoulder's. "I'm gonna getcha!" she meowed loudy.

ooc: no muse for her. lol

Lostpaw tilted her head to the side, ears pricked. That question was common from kits. The Medicine cat sighed and pondered on the correct words to use. "Well, a Medicine cat's job can be very boring. All we do is sort herbs, collect herbs, and tend to the clan's health. This job can be very rewarding. Like... Whenever a Queen kits, you know that you are helping the newest additions to the clan survive birth. Whenever a cat comes into the den with a cough, you know that curing it could help make sure it doesn't turn into some deadly disease. The downside is that we cannot mate or have kits." Lostpaw stopped describing the ups and downs of a Medicine cat's job when Dovekit came in making a racket.

[Naruto]

Squirrelkit's mossy green eyes widened. "Wow! I thought you only looked at plants all day-" She was cut off as her sister tackled her, pinning her to the ground. "Hey Dovekit! No fair I wasn't ready!"

[LEN KAGAMINE]

Lostpaw chuckled a bit at Squirrelkit's remark. She went back to sorting her herbs, letting the two kits play. "Make sure you don't roll into that pile over there." She blind cat pointed her tail in the direction of the small pile of squished berries and destroyed herbs.

[Naruto]

"'Kay!" Squirrelkit mewed, scrabbling at her sister's belly with soft paws. "I'll beat you this time!"

ooc: will there be med cat tryouts for lostpaw's apprentice? ^^

Sunpaw walked into the Medicine Den. "Do you want a hand?" questioned Sunpaw, wanting to help.
