Bengalbelly dodged out of the way of Church's attack. He felt claws hit his face and hissed at the pain. Quickly he turned towards Church and slashed at his flank, trying to get him before he turned around.

Clovernose's fur began to heqt up. Her frustration was causing her to become over stressed. She had to calm down, but she couldn't. She couldn't while they were at it, and she, was helpless. She winced as she felt pain in her. She ignored it. It wasn't of much concern, it was only on her legs. She was just imagining the pain because she was so worked up. That had to be it. "Please stop!" She yowled at the two.

Church paused to look at Clovernose for a second with a look that said "I'll be fine." In his moment of distraction he felt claws sink into his neck and hissed, rising up on his hind legs to batter at Bengalbelly's face with his claws.

Bengalbelly looked over at Clovernose. He considered stopping, but he quickly threw the thought away. He'd always listened to his sister in the past. This time, he was disobeying. He wanted to hear Church's last breath, regardless of his affiliation with his sister. She'd get over it. He looked back at Church to see him rising on his hind legs. He coudln't register what he was doing before he was his in the face by his claws, and then again and again.

He growled, He couldn't see, he had to stop this. Bengalbelly ran forward to headbutt Church and knock him over on his stomach.

Clovernose whimpered as more pain went through her, but she let it go. It wasn't that bad, not yet, she could take it for now. She kept watching them, wondering what could end of this. What if they actually killed each other? Then the kits would be without a father or an uncle. Why would they risk this?

[Naruto]

Church grunted as he was thrown on his side, the breath knocked from his lungs. Instinctively he curled his back legs up while arching his spine to claw at Bengalbelly's head viciously. "Give it up!" he spat, still slightly dazed.

Bengalbelly didn't answer Church. He wasn't much of a talker when he was fighting someone. Easily he moved out of the way of Church's attack, and made for a blow at Church's stomach. He was feeble, and once again, it was looking like he was winning.

Clovernose tried to get up on her feet, she had to stop it, she had to. When she stood a sharp pain, like a needle was being forced through her, came out and she buckled back down onto her stomach. She bared her teeth and tried to stop from wailing out. What was wrong with her?

[Naruto]

Church caterwauled in pain as claws sliced into his belly. But the wounds weren't deep; he'd live. He struck out with his front paws to try and grab Bengalbelly's head to bite at his ears and claw at his face

Bengalbelly saw Church's paw come towards him and moved his head, thinking it was another attack for his face. He yelped in surprise when he felt the paw his the back of his head and pushed him to the ground in from of Church. He laid their trying to get his wits about him. All of the noise around him sounded muffled, he couldn't quit get it all. The blow made him feel sick.

Clovernose unsheathed her claws and dug them into the grown as, what only seemed like seconds ago, another wave of pain went through her. What was this? She couldn't hold in the pain. Loudly she wailed out, almost like a kit in distress. "Church!"

[Naruto]

The wail froze his heart. "Clovernose!" He jolted to his feet, abandoning the big tabby cat, and rushed to her side, bleeding but alright. "What's wrong?!" he demanded, eyes frantic with worry.

Bengalbelly her a muffled yelled. He didn't notice, but he could feel Church leave, and then he said something, what? He didn't know. The tom staggered to his feet and shook his head. Slowly, awareness came back, and he started to hear what was actually being said. It was something about... Clovernose. He looked in their direction and saw she was in pain. Panic rushed through him and he bounded over to her side. What was wrong?

"I don't know!" Clovernose yelped! She breathed heavily as she staggered through the calm. She was no longer in pain, but the tightness she felt, and the leftover pain still lingered. She tried to keep this feeling with her, but a moment later she felt another one. She bared her teeth and screeched out behind them. Her mind raced, but she couldn't piece together what was happening.

"Go get Fetherstream!" Bengalbelly yowled before shoving Church to get going.

[Naruto]

Church rushed over to the medicine den, his thoughts dazed. Please let her be alright! he prayed, pushing his way into the den. "Featherstream! Clovernose... She's in pain!" he yowled the first thing that ame to his head. "Come quickly!"

"I know," Featherstream replied, though, not nearly as paniced as Church, as she stepped out of the herb storage. She held in her jaws, poppy seeds, as well as watermint, and some other herbs. "I heard from over here, and I think I know what the problem is." She walked back Church, not commenting on his injuries. She walked towards the main clearing and looked over at Clovernose.

"Mhm." She looked at Bengalbelly, seeing him injured as well. "She's in labor," Featherstream diagnosed with utter clamness. "This wasn't supposed to happen for another week. Bring her into the nursery." She padded towards the nursery and walked inside, setting down the herbs next to Clovernose's nest.

"You've got to stand up," Bengalbelly urged Clovernose. She tried to get up as fast as she could, before another contraction came, completely worried. She was having her kits now! Why oh why! Bengalbelly quicklt moved to her side to help steady her, nearly falling over himself when she leaned on him for supposrt.

"Clovernose!" Church rushed to his mate's other side to keep her steady, pressing close to her pelt.

Bengalbelly, with the help of Church, brought Clovernose, in what seemed like ages, to the nursery. She laid down on the nest, panting as she tried to hold on to ther contractions. She yowled when the pain came again, it was horrible.

"Featherstream, can't yopu give her a poppy seed or something!?" She shook her head.

"No, she needs to do this without those right now. The kits are still in there, it could affect them, negatively or not, I'm not sure. I probably would have been able to if she weren't doing this so early. It was probably from the stress you two mouse-brains put on her with your silly fight!" She growled at the both of them and looked back at Clovernose. She was unable to put in a token of response, she was in too much pain. "Just relax and breathe." Featherstream told her.

Clovernose only nodded her head as more pain raced towards her.

[Naruto]

Church's eyes widened. They'd caused this?! He just stood there numbly, the only thing he heard the rapid pulse of his heart in his ear fur.

Bengalbelly growled in reponse to Featherstream. It was all he could do, all he could think to do in this situation. He felt helpless, watching his sister there in pain. He couldn't stop it, there was nothing he could do. It was all up to, NightClan, it seemed now.

Hours upon hours passed. The sun began to climb back below the mountains and hide for the night. It was almost nightfall. The whole time was filled with pain and yowling. Both of them steadily getting worse as time went on. No sign of a kit, no sure sign of how many, what gender, just agony. Bengalbelly, long ago, in the countless moons that passed through his mind of this day, had walked out from the nursery, not wanting to stand their and watch her suffer like that. At the hands of kits, and Church.

Featherstream stood at attention, every moment or so checking Clovernose's contractions. The she-cat was struggling on, physically weakening in her efforts to get the next line in her family out of her, and away. Time and time again, water was called to be brought to the queen, and again, another was called to be promtly brought.

"It's almost time," Featherstream mewed, getting only a nod in response from Clovernose. She placed a paw on her stomach, waiting for the time for the children to be born. She felt the ripple of tightening muscled that came in quick secession. With every pulse, the moment was drawing nearer and nearer. "Clovernose? I'm going to need you to psuh when I say, okay?" Another nod.

Clovernose and Featherstream waiting the long moments that seemed to seperate the command from relief of the pain. Then, suddenly, firmly, and calmly: "Push!" Just as another wave of pain came Clovernose pushed as hard as she could, losing energy quickly. Again the command was called and she pushed harder, and again, quickly losing energy.

Church could only stare at Clovernose for a while, feeling totally helpless. After an hour or so he padded ut to sit just outside the nursery entrance, still looking numb.

"Come on, Clovernose, keep pushing." Featherstream stood by Clovernose, trying to get her to focus only on this. It was easier now, since Church and Bengalbelly were out. It was just the two of them now. "You've got to really try, you've almost got this one out."

Clovernose pushed harder and harder, her hopes of getting these kits out dwindling by the second. One last push, she heard Fetherstream tell her. A great big one. With all her might, Clovernose pushed, the effort seeming to drain her of her energy. She felt a relief, feeling the kit slip out easily, but she could tell there were still more.

Featherstream gently pulled the she-kit away before poking her head out of the nursery. "Church, I need you to come in her and lick the first kit clean." She went back inside and gazed at her. She was a white-pawed ginger tabby, her nose a bright, untainted pink. Her damp chestfur looked dirtied, but when dried, it'd be whiter than snow. The kits eyes were closed, there was no surety of what her eyes would look like.

She brought her attention back to Clovernose, she seemed to be taking on pushing by herself. She really seemed to want this over with. She could see the head of the white kit and once again, began to urge Clovernose to keep going. "Give the hardest pushes you can." It was painful, it was hard, but she kept trying, over and over, and over.

[Naruto]

Church rushed into the nursery, looking first at Clovernose then at his daughter. He started rasping his tongue carefully over her pelt, fluffing her fur and making her look more kit-like. He noticed that she was just barely breathing, her chest moving up and down frailly.

"The next one is coming." Clovernose pushed again, putting whatever amount of force she could muster. Several minutes passed before this kit came. He came, as a bigger relief. She was getting lighter, she could feel it. There wasn't much longer now.

Featherstream pulled the boy away and laid him next to the she-kit. He was an all-white tom, no signs of another color anywhere except for in his ears. He looked smaller than his fluffed sister with his fur plastered to him body. He breathed regularly, he was fine, as fine as he could be. A happy little fact.

"I think this is the last one," Featherstream mewed. Clovernose let out a grunt of joy as she pushed again, trying to get the last on out. She tried, her hardest, giving her best pushes, even after she felt like she couldn't go anymore, she pushed harder. She wanted this kit out, and quickly. The kit came out quickly too. He was a gray kit, resembling Church's own tone and pattern. He was a big kit, larger than the other ones. It looked to be muscle, but it may as well just been his own girth. Featherstream liked the kit clean as Clovernose began to relax, closing her eyes, her breathing slower than normal.

[Naruto]

"They're beautiful, Clovernose," Church purred, padding over to stand by his mate. He noticed her irregular breathing. But he didn't know if all she-cats did that after giving birth or what. "Are they all OK? Is she OK?" he questioned.

Clovernose opened her eyes in slits and looked at Church. She nodded her head to confirm she was okay. She could barely hear him, though, it was like there was something in her ears, clogging them up.

Featherstream looked over Clovernose carefully. "She's just tired," she concluded. "All she needs is good rest. I'm leaving the watermint and poppy seeds here in case she needs them. The watermint is for milk, and the poppy seeds are to relax her and make her sleep." With that Featherstream left the nursery.

A moment later Bengalbelly came into the nursery. He looked at Clovernose, then to the kits, then to Church. He looked back at the kits and gave them a low growl in greeting before he left the nursery.

Clovernose, feebily, as she had no ample strength, pulled whichever kits she could towards her so they could get their needed milk.

[Naruto]

Blind and deaf, the tiny she-cat squirmed towards her mother, that being her only instinct. Where is she? she though desperately, wandering around in pitch-black darkness. She gave a soft mewl of distress before stopping her forward movement, too tired to continue on towards the tempting smell of milk.

Church pressed his muzzle against Clovernose's. "You did it," he murmured. "Two sons and a daughter..." He licked her ear comfortingly. "Are you hungry?"

Clovernose looked over at the little she-kit. She had managed to get the two boys, but not her. "Church," she mewed weakly, pointing with her tail over to the other kit. The two boys were already suckling, and she was by herself, missing out on them. She nodded her head in response to Church. Yes, she was hungry, very hungry. She could eat anything right now, without care.

[Naruto]

"Oh. Right." Church gently nudged the ginger kitten forwards until she was curled beside her brother's, feeding contentedly. Then he padded briskly out of the den to get Clovernose a decent piece of prey. Maybe a squirrel or a rat. He quickly grabbed a large starling from the pitiful pile and started back for the nursery.

Clovernose looked down at the kits. One was white as snow, the other one, as gray as Church, and the third... ginger. She seemed to be the odd one out. Her pelt color from a cat she couldn't remember from her familiy. Maybe, she thought, it was from Church's side. She looked down at her, her pelt looking so familiar. Suddenlt her mind was thrown back to that dream she had when she and Church lived in that den in the territory. The she-cat who was killed. Why? She didn't know, she just knew she didn't have a chance to actually... live. She said she wanted to use her kits, and that if she didn't, then one would be born dead, souless she said. It frightened her, so she said yes without thinking about it. For both her, the kit, and the spirit. She didn't believe it afterwards, but now...? It was odd. It was a coincidence, she thought, but she didn't think it would be good to betray the cat, dream or not.

Gently, Clovernose caressed the she-cat with her tail. "Heather," she mewed quietly. She laid back down on her side, feeling drained. She... dind't feel like she had the energy to name the other kits. Maybe Church could do it, when he got back.
