Hunt for Silverstar

Leopardstrike burst through the trees his eyes ablaze, he was scouting for there leader with his apprentice, Whisperpaw. Scenting for Silverstar was useless, but practical, though the rain washed away almost all of the scents. "Whisperpaw, what can you smell?" he asked taking this chance to see how good his apprentices tracking abilities were.

[Riber~]

Whisperpaw skidded to a stop, looking up at Leoparstrike. Trying to prove himself he sniffed but came up short; not finding a single draft of Silverstar's motherly scent. With a frustrated sigh he cocked his head to one side ... seeing a small silver strand on a nearby fern, dangling precautiously. "Here. Look."

Leopardstrike bounded over to the small peace of fur hanging by a fern. "She's usually never this clumsy... Something is definitely wrong." meowed Leopardstrike, passing the patch of fern and following the incredibly faint scent for his... Aunt, that he had memorized long ago. He scented the air but the smells were starting to be clouded by the heavy downpour. "SILVERSTAR!!!" he yowled into the darkness. Where was she?

[Riber~]

Whisperpaw halted, leaning down to sniff the peice of silvery fur ... then looking up and parting his jaws, almost like tasting for prey. With a whisp of his tail a small wind blew past, ruffling leaves and undergrowth under his feet. A strong scent wafted from a certain direction. Looking up at Leoparstrike he nodded towards the direction of Silverstar's scent before racing off behind the wind.

Leopardstrike nodded back quickly, diving into the undergrowth, at top speed, his mouth open catching any change in direction and rain drops that hit his mouth. Leopardstrike turned to see a flaming tree, the rain not strong enough to quench it and branches of lightning scratching up the sky, and illuminating the world for a quick second. "The storm is getting worse..." he meowed to himself, looking back to see if his apprentice was okay.

The apprentice leaped over branches and logs, feeling the tug at his muscles. He was still so small compared to his littermates. As Whisperpaw ripped through the undergrowth after his mentor he skidded to a stop, tasting the air. Pushing through a green fern, not touched by the hungry flames, he saw her. Silverstar was lying on her back, jaws parted in an exhausted stance. Sprinting over to his leader, Whisperpaw felt for a heartbeat, relieved to feel one. Looking over to her leg, he gaped. Her leg was charred, black at the tips. Touching it cautiously with his paw he sighed in relief; from what he knew, it wasn't broken or magled. Just burned from the raging fires.
"LEOPARSTRIKE!"

Leopardstrike raced towards the sound of his apprentice, immediately he saw his silver-gray leader on the ground and flames all around, his only instinct was to get away with his leader as far away as possible. "Come on! Help grab her." He yowled as a tree landed where had been standing a few seconds ago, he bit into his leaders scruff, using all of his strength to pick her up. Fire and water were raging all around him, and he could only see a few inches in front of him, the claws of lightning showing him a path for only a few seconds, but he could tell where camp was.

Whisperpaw nodded, grabbing the scruff of his leader with puny jaws. Following Leoaprdstrike, the apprentice slowly dragged Silverstar back to camp.
