Lostpaw picked her way over to Silverstar's den, snow coating her when she finally arrived. "Silvertstar?" She mewed, trying to make herself loud enough for the leader to hear her while the weather was like this. "Silverstar, we have a problem... May I come in?"

Silverstar beckoned the medicine cat apprentice inwards, nodding to her. "Yes Lostpaw?"

Lostpaw nodded to Silverstar as she entered. "Um..." The she-cat twitched her tail. "How do I put this..." The apprentice's dull eyes stared up at Silverstar, worry clouding them more than her blindness. "I'm starting to think that the prey are drinking tainted water..." Lostpaw looked at her paws, shuffling them patheticly. "I have Dawnfur in my den, with a stomach ache... She said that it might have just been a bad mouse, but I'm not too sure..."

Silverstar quizzically looked down upon Lostpaw, her ear twitching slightly. Tainted prey? Sure, it was possible. But from what? The storm. That damned storm was likely the issue here. It caused more problems then any could imagine. Would the clans have to leave? If this continued, the she-cat doubted any of the groups would flourish in the slightest. It was a terrible thought this, that, after so many moons, that another Great Journey might have to take place. Leave their homes again. Many would likely die from the extremity of the escapade. In mid-thought, Silverstar realized something, something quite bad. Earlier that day, on a hunting patrol, she realized an apprentice said something, that a sort of sticky substance was layering the stream. Their mentor dismissed it as just simple mud. But it wasn't, it was something much more potent. Oil. Maybe ... even posion.

That patrol had been unsuccessful, and, although it had been very small, they came back with only two peices. A squirrel and a vole. She had eaten that squirrel. With a gasp she hurredly rushed out the words to Lostpaw. "Stop hunting patrols to the stream ... don't let anyone eat that vole at the bottom of the p-" A wave of dizziness striked her suddenly and the silver tabby collapsed with a single gag ...

Lostpaw felt her pelt prickled. At this rate, she's going to have the WHOLE clan in the Medicine Cat's den! This isn't good in Leaf-Bare. The apprentice rushed over to Silverstar. "Hang in there!" Her mew was muffled as she took Silverstar's neck scruff in her little jaws. Starclan, she was heavy!

The Medicine cat apprentice dragged Silverstar through the clearing and into her den.
