Desperate News [OPEN]

[Riber~]

Ecohdrop rushed into camp, tongue waging ... panting and out of breath. HUrrying through the storm had been terrible and she narrowly missed many falling branches. Ripping into Shadow's den she called the leader's name hurridly ...

[Edward]

"Echodrop..." Shadow's weak and husky voice called out from the den. "Help me with something, would you?" a sharp flash of lightning lit up the dark confines of the den, with Shadow lying on her side in a pool of her own blood, with the branch halfway across the floor. Shadow had pulled it out by accident and was now bleeding to death...

[Riber~]

OOC: HOLY CRAP! Is Shadow gonna die?!

Echodrop's eyes widened at her leader's bloody pool, mouth gaping in an open 'O' shape. Rushing towards her the she-cat mewed loudly, trying to keep as calm as possible. "SHADOWSTAR?! Are you okay?! What happened?! You need cobwebs ... lots of cobwebs ..."

[Edward]

OOC: LOL. amazing reaction XD no she won't die.

IC: "I'm better...for now..." Shadow mewed weakly. "But I can;t feel my leg." she flicked her head in the direction of her wounded leg. "Sorry." she apologised for the trouble. There were so many other cats who needed Echodrop's help...

[Riber~]

The she-cat looked sceptically at her leader. A stick had skewered her leg for StarClan's sake! "You are my top priority right now. We must get that fixed up ... I'll be right back ... hold on ..." She mewed hastily, sprinting for the exit. Rain poured down on Echodrop as she ran, pelting her with icy droplets. Fur plastered to her slender body, Echodrop slowed her pace, now at a fast walk into her den. Looking at the darkness filtering through the cracks, she sighed. Life was to be much harder from now on ...

Returning with a large supply of cobwebs and a bit of the rockleaf Snowtail had provided her with Echodrop began pressing small bits of the mossy substance to Shadow's leg ... filling in the gash and slowing the blood-flow. Chewing a quick poultice she rubbed the rockleaf on her, hoping to ease the pain.
"When you're ready ... we must discuss an important matter."

[Edward]

Shadow winced as the mossy stuff filled in her wound. Gritting her teeth, she replied, "I'm listening." she relaxed a little as the rockleaf took effect, but had her ears perked listening for Echodrop's voice.

[Riber~]

Echodrop nodded, still pushing rockleaf to the firey wound. "I have had a message from StarClan. We must leave our homes and travel somewhere new ..."

OOC: Dun Dun Duuuunn!

[Riber~]

OOC: It was Moonecho that got one from NightClan, not Echodrop.

[Edward]

Shadow held back a growled, "StarClan also told us that we could trust ThunderClan!" she spat, "If we leave, where would we go? Someone would be bound to take our place, and..." her voice softened, "It feels like StarClan is trying to shun us out of the picture..." she looked into Echodrop's eyes, "Where would we go? over the Mountains?" she asked, her voice husky and saddened now. What on earth was StarClan's plan?!

[Riber~]

Echodrop predicted her leader would react this and kept very calm. If StarClan sent it ... they had to go. "They have told me to follow the brightest star in the sky ... if we don't leave; I believe our clans will die. Every one of them." Her tone was serious, none of her emotions playing across her face.

[Edward]

"Follow the brightest Star...." Sahdow bowed her head in defeat. She looked up at Echodrop sincerely. "Are all of our cats able to travel? What about the ones who were hurt at the gathering?"

[Riber~]

Echodrop shared Shadow's concerns. Although all of their members were fit to travel except Mountainpaw .... how would they know it was safe? "They are. One cat is injured but could be easily carried by a few warriors. We should tell the other clans ... we must leave in less then one moon or, I believe, we will perish."

[Edward]

Sahdow blinked slowly, and thought for a second or two. "We should...I'll send out patrols of two warriors each to try and meet with the other clans' leaders...4 cats for ThunderClan and Wolfclan however." Shadow licked her wound cautiously and recoiled as it stung.

[Riber~]

Echodrop nodded slightly, agreeing with her leader. "Be sure they are cats who are not ... aggresive towards them. A fight is not what we want." The she-cat looked her leader in the eye, flicking her tail. "Your wound should heal soon. Soon enough to make the journey properly. Keep it clean."

[BlackClaw]

The RiverClan deputy entered ShadowStar's den to see his leader lying in a pool of blood, with Echodrop standing beside her.

"Shadow! Are you okay?!" BlackClaw yelped, flashing to the leader's side. "What happened?"

[Riber~]

Echodrop whisked the deputy back with a thin tail, signaling that she needed space. "Nothing that time can't heal ... I'm sure Shadow will make an announcement soon ..."

[Edward]

Shadowstar was already halfway to standing up. She sighed with relief as she managed to stand and kept her leg above the ground to avoid putting pressure on it. Blackclaw came rushing in. "I'll be fine now, Blackclaw, thanks to Echodrop here." she nodded her head to the young medicine cat. Wincing as she moved, she said, "I still have to make an announcement which I should've done before the gathering...then I'll make another one concerning these...recent matters." Sahdow didn't want to talk now about StarClan's choices to Blackclaw.

[Cheesles]

Shadowclaw heard aggitated voices coming from his leaders den. He leapt over the rocks towards the den. He also needed to talk to Shadowstar about Tigerkits apprenticeship. He passed the Fresh kill pile and grabbed a mice and a fish. He entered the den and lightly shook off the water droplets on his fur. He dropped the kill as he saw Shadowstar ling in a pool of her own blood. He picked up the mice and nosed towards her. Then he nosed the fish towards Echodrop. He turned towards Echodrop and spoke.
"Are you ready for an apprentice?" Then Shadowclaw moved towards Shadowstar. "Shadowstar, it's time that became an apprentice. I have spoken to her and she wishes to become a medicine cat." He nodded respectfull and stepped beck.

[Edward]

Shadow gratefully wolfed down the mouse and replied, "Tigerkit? Oh yes...I remember having a conversation about that with her...but it's been very busy." she turned to look at Echodrop, "You know Tigerkit, don't you, Echodrop? She's very eager to become a medicine cat apprentice." Shadowstar hinted.

Echodrop sighed, closing her eyes. She honestly wasn't ready to become a mentor ... not now and likely not till after a while. The she-cat looked to Shadowstar, eyes blinking and filled with wariness. "I have a few young kits that show promise ... but at the moment ... I am simply not ready. It has been less then a moon since Leafsong died ... and I still don't feel ready enough."

[Cheesles]

"Tigerkit's ceremony shall wait then. She is oldest of the kits and she is currently 5 and a 1/2 moons. It is your choice Echodrop. But if we're going on a journey then we shall need to pick one soon so to help you and all the cats of this clan." Shadowclaw bowed his head with respect nosed the fish towards Echodrop.

[Riber~]

OOC: He wouldn't know about the journey yet.

Echodrop pushed the fish away with a paw, eyes dull. "Save it for the elders and queens." Her voice was strained, annoyed really. "My mentor died less then a moon ago, and you already want me to pick an apprentice? I barely know how to get myself to do my duties, now you want me to teach a kit who knows nothing?" Turning away she mewed over her shoulder.
"The announcement should be made very soon ... we must prepare." Echodrop padded away, pelted by the constant rain.

"Echodrop I never said you had to chose now, I was just saying sorry for pushing this onto your shoulders. Your right it's too soon." Shadowclaw replied in a calm tone.
"Thank-you Shadowstar." He said as he bowed his head. Shadowclaw padded slowel out of the den tears listening in his eyes. They had to leave home, and Echodrop, would she cope on the journey?
