Coldstream stalked around camp. She needed an apprentice if she was to become leader. Perhaps she would ask Redstar if she could mentor Treepaw? Yes, she would ask him. Coldstream headed toward the leader's den, and called to Redstar.

Redstar proweled out of his den. For someone as old as he is, it looked like Redstar was getting stronger every day. "What do you want, Coldstream?" The leader acted mean, but was actually in a good mood today.
