Doom and Gloom

[Wolvine]

Bronzepelt's tail twitched. He opened his eyes and stared into the forest, sad thoughts coming to mind. He had lived all his life here, and now they where expected to leave. He could have easily said no, stay here, but what would life be without a clan? He had devoted every minuite to it, making himself wiser and stronger to protect it. Every cat in the clan was dear to him. No, he could never leave. The golden cat gave a shudder; the cold of sitting in the rain was finally kicking in.

[Cheesles]

Melodypaw padded into the clearing. Her eyes were blank and betrayed no expression. The aura around her was grey. That was unusual, considering her usual bubbly self.

She looked quickly at Bronzepelt, he obviously feeling the same. She sat down not far from him and rolled a pigeon towards herself from the fresh kill pile. She bit slowly into the prey, letting the sweet forest scent wash over her.

[Wolvine]

Brozlepelt let his eyes look up to see Melodypaw, and then they fell back down onto his paws. His normally golden pelt was darkening into a rusty yellow. He retreted further towards shelter, water dripping from his soaked pelt.

Sunpaw padded back into the camp, head high despite the rain. He had a plump pigeon in his jaws. He padded to the fresh-kill pile and put down the pigeon. "I'm starving!" he said to Melodypaw, taking a mouse from the pile and starting to eat.

[Cheesles]

"Hmph," Melodypaw, resting her head on her paws and staring off in to space. She could feel optomism and fear about the journey comsume her and let her dangle in its grasp.

She let her eyes settle on Sunpaw as he came and sat beside her. She wasn't in the mood to share tongues or swap stories of the carefree and easiness of kit-hood.

"I'm sorry, this rain is, annoying." Melodypaw mewed, her green eyes tired. "I'm going to get some rest.." She stood up and arched her back in a long stretch.

After a quick respectful nod, Melodypaw turned and padded past Bronzepelt nodding at him too with a friendly matter.

Brozepelt looked at the retreating Melodypaw, then at Sunpaw. She had only jsut arrived. He had been here since sun-high. How coul;d she be sick of it already. He shrgged his shopulders and looked away from the other apprentice.

[Bumblebee~*]

Riverbreeze padded in after his apprentice, smiling as he saw him drop the pigeon onto the pile. He looked around and saw Bronzepelt's wistful, thoughtful expression, and was reminded once again that they would soon be leaving this home. It wasn't that he wouldn't think about his old home, it was just that he didn't get why everyone was making such a big deal about it.

Sunnyfern padded delicately out of the warrior den. Seeing her brother, she padded leisurely over and sat down next to him, shifting her muscles to loosen them from her nap. She curled her tail around her paws and licked each forepaw, then licking one again and drew it over her ear. She blinked at her brother. "Why're you staring off into space?" She followed his gaze over to Bronzepelt. "D'you fancy him? He is rather handsome." She purred teasingly, giving her brother an affectionate shove.

Riverbreeze snapped back to attention at his littermate's words. "I do not!" He protested, trying to keep laughter out of his tone. A deep growl rumbled in his throat as he leapt at his sister with forepaws outstretched and claws sheathed. She stifled a yelp of surprise before cuffing his ears with a forepaw. "You mouse-brain!" She hissed. "We're not apprentices anymore. Quit fooling around." But even as she scolded him, she couldn't keep the amusement out of her eyes.

Sunpaw finished his mouse. He stood up, shaking his thick fur and went over into a sheltered spot. It's too crowded in the apprentice's den... his thoughts trailed as he looked over to his current den. He looked around the camp, the realisation of the journey and how much he would miss his home of 9 moons sinking in. He curled up, tail over his nose, for one of the first times not really wanting to talk.
