IC: Riverbreeze zig-zagged around the sandy clearing, swerving quickly with no clear pattern.

Sunpaw looked at his mentor's antics for a heartbeat and summed up that he wasn't doing this to a pattern. Sunpaw decieded that he better not either. He ran, aiming for around 90degrees forward from where his mentor was standing, judging by Riverbreeze's speed that he would be around there by the time he got there. Since his mentor would know what Sunpaw was up to by now and double back, Sunpaw veered to the left, where his mentor was coming from. He leapt in a heartbeat, facing his mentor head on, and extended a paw for his mentor's back, so that he could use it to grip and turn around, hopefully landing him on his mentor's back.

OOC: That's okay. I'm kinda-really-short-tempered today. >_<

IC: As he veered sharply from left to right, Riverbreeze saw Sunpaw out of the corner of his eye, and turned right instead. But Sunpaw was already there, leaping at him head on. Riverbreeze kept running, keeping his body low, but his larger build wasn't as useful for this move. He felt his apprentice's paw halfway on his back and halfway on his flank, in a position to get an easy pawhold.

Sunpaw quickly secured his postion and lifted a paw, batting Riverbreezes head, keeping an eye out for any sign of retliation.

Riverbreeze darted forwards, then suddenly let his paws go loose, tumbling to the floor and rolling onto his back, giving Sunpaw little to no time to think.

As Sunpaw got crushed, he quickly decided that he should give clawing his way out a try. He raised his front two paws and started to shove at his mentor's head, hoping that if he got the head to move, the body would be easier to side out from. Sunpaw also realised that Riverbreeze could not inflict any wounds from this position. He pulled one of his back legs out from underneath Riverbreeze, and rather than try to push the bigger cat over, he instead tried to use it tohelp him attack. Since it was a training session, though, Sunpaw kept his claws seathed the whole time.

Riverbreeze rolled quickly off of his apprentice, turned around, and lunged at him. He could tell his apprentice was good at thinking out strategies, so he would be interested to see how he would get out of this one. He pinned Sunpaw down and raked his paw down his belly, imitating what a cat would do if he was aiming to tear at easily-injured places.

Sunpaw tucked his hind paws into his belly. He suddenly flung them forwards, using enough force to knock a full-grown cat off its feet.

The ginger-and-white warrior was launched off his paws, nearly doing a backflip as Sunpaw launched him backwards. His body created a little hollow in the sand as it skidded through the ground. Getting up, he purred loudly. "Fantastic, Sunpaw!" He mewed. "Alright, let's go back to camp, and you can pick the best piece of fresh-kill that you can find on the fresh-kill pile." He padded towards the camp's direction, turning to look at his apprentice. "You did really well. I'm proud of you." He smiled.

"Thanks, Riverbreeze!" Sunpaw meowed gleefully, bounding out of the clearing in a way that indicated he had too much energy. He was halfway back to camp when he scented a pigeon. He decided he might as well hunt it and bring it back to camp. The scent was so enriching! He opened his mouth, letting his scent glands tell him which way to go. He saw the pigeon pecking at something on the ground. Easy prey, he thought. The wind was still for a moment. And that moment was all he needed. He pounced, just as the pigeon realised something was wrong and started to flap away. His claw had already caught onto it though, and he killed it cleanly. Picking it up proudly in his jaws, he carried it back to camp.

Riverbreeze padded calmly after his bouncy apprentice. He stopped when he spotted Sunpaw a little while off, his jaws parted and his mouth practically watering over the scent of an easy catch. Padding silently forwards, he watched as the ginger tom lunged for the bird just as it started to fly away. "Great catch!" He meowed, padding after him.
