Smallpaw hopped into the clearing that the Warriors and Apprentices use for practice. "Come on, Oakclaw! Your taking too long! You're starting to be slower than a dead mouse!" The grey Apprentice hopped around in a circle, antxios to start her first Battle training! Smallpaw's grey tail twitched with excitement, almost forgeting that She, Amberpaw, and Jadeclaw were going to be shreded by Shadowstar and Blackclaw.

"Calm down Smallpaw.First try doing the back kick.Lash out with your back legs by taking your weight on your front paws.Like this."Oakclaw did the back kick."Remember in battle you must judge your opponent's distance from you carefully."

Smallpaw did exactly what her Mentor told her to do. "Like this?" She asked, kicking out at an invisable cat. Smallpaw was having fun, she practiced the move over and over on the air, and sometimes butterflies.

"Good.Now try doing the front paw blow.Pretend that the bush over there is a opponent's head and hit it as hard as you can with your claws sheathed like this.Oakclaw demonstrated on a bush.(Frontal attack.Bring your front paw down hard on your opponent's head.Claws sheathed.)

Smallpaw watched her mentor hitthe bush. "Ok!" Smallpaw dashed for the bush, hitting it as hard as she could with her front paw. "Ow!" Smallpaw looked at the paw. A small thorn was inbeded in her paw pad. The Apprentice grasped the top of the thorn in her teeth, pulling it out. Shaking it, she mewed, "Much better..." Smallpaw took her position back at the bush, pacticing the move some more....

"Good.Would you like go fishing now?We never had any successful fishing lately."

[LEN KAGAMINE]

"Sure!" Smallpaw's tail twitched happily. She bounded for the Lake as full sprint.
