Phantompaw wasn't dejected in the slightest by Cherrypaw's mismatched eyes. Instead he held the trance for a moment longer before baring his teeth and giving a light snarl. It was pointedly directed at the nuisance and her cheerful manner. He lashed his tail again once more and stood up, shadows shading half of his face in utter darkness. He blinked once, eyes still flaring with a stormcloud of annoyance and hostility, before padding forward, gripping a mouse from the pile a tail-length or two away from her, and slinking back into shadows... into nothing. Okay, well nothing was physically the Apprentice's cave, but you get the point.

Cherrypaw scowled as she got up to pad forwards to the fresh-kill pile. Seeing him reach for a mouse made her realize how hungry she was. She selected a piece of fresh-kill at random; she'd chosen a vole. Whipping around, she padded forwards a few steps and placed the rodent on the ground in front of her and lay down with her back towards him to eat. What a creep! She thought, gnawing at the bones of her already-finished vole. Her food felt undigested, as she remembered his ominous gaze.

"Um. Sure. Why not? I have nothing better to do." Except for go out and meet his mentor, but... he really didn't feel like it. He wanted to hang out with his friends and do something more interesting, even if it was just hunting. He turned his attention back over to the other cats over... there.

"You guys want to go hunting!?" He yelled over at them. Something to take their minds off of... whatever.

Deerpaw padded over to her friends, grinning, a rabbit clamped in her jaws. She dropped the exeptionaly large spicemen and gave a foolish giggle. "See that? New-leaf is coming!" This was going to be her first one, and she was exited about it.

Fernpaw padded away from the group of apprentices near the fresh kill pile and joined the apprentices who wanted to go hunting. "Can I come? I'm sick of being stuck in this cave," she mewed. She didn't really care if she got soaked...she just wanted to get her mind off of the accident. Besides, the clan needed fresh-kill.

Blazepaw watched his sister ask to go hunting with the other apprentices. Fools He thought. Why would they go hunting in this weather? All the prey will be in their holes. He shook his head in disapproval and continued grooming himself.

"Sure!" Pastpaw said with delight. "That's alright, right?" He asked Hollypaw and Lacepaw. It would be great if she went, then tere would be three cutie patootie she-cats that he got to hang with on mutual grounds. And it would all be fun. He looked around quickly his head swivling to look past others. He didn't see him, he didn't sent him, his mentor wasn't here, and he hadn't asked him to go training, so... he was supposed to be training now.

Oh well!

"Of course." she purred, "Well, let's head out." she added and slowly padded towards the camp exit. She placed one creme paw in front of the other and kept her head high as she passes a few warriors, she nodded her head and continued on.

"Great," Fernpaw mewed cherrily, following Lacepaw out of camp. She glanced once back at her brother, gazing at him sadly as he just groomed himself alone near the entrance to the cave. But she quickly pushed the thoughts out of her mind; Blazepaw never really liked to talk to other cats anyways.

Pastpaw with a gleeful step of... glee, followed Lacepaw and Fernpaw out. He looked at them, and suddenly felt uncomfortable. It was weird being bigger than most of the apprentices. HE wasn't hugo big, still about the same size. Ah, he didn't know where he was going with this. The feeling of uncomfortability flashed away as if it had never been.

Hollypaw padded after them, flicking her tail on Pastpaw's shoulder on the way. She'd seen his hesitation. "What's wrong?" she asked, jerking her head towards the other apprentices. The ones still in the cave were still jabbering, and the ones that were coming with them were a few tail-lengths ahead. No one would hear if he said anything, except her.

"Mm?" Pastpaw looked over at Hollypaw, a little perplexed. "Oh, nothing." He grinned widely, one of genuine type. It really wasn't anything really. Just his own thoughts of things that could be fixed and not. And this thought was something that couldn't be.

Hollypaw rolled her eyes. "Don't act like something's not bothering you. It doesn't work. Trust me I've tried." She slowed her pace, her pawsteps falling in time with the older apprentice's. "So what is it? You can tell me."

Pastpaw laughed at Hollpaw's prodding. "Really, it's nothing." He'd already hadtalks about his feelings today anyways. He didn't wantanother Woodpecker in his day. Well... his name wasn't Woodpecker, it was Woodflash, but that's what he called him. "If Ihave something I promise I'll tell you if someone doesn't catch meon it first, okay?"

A voice next to Cherrypaw nearly startled her out of her fur, and her jaws clamped down onto a bone, crushing it with a loud crunch. "What?" She mewed a bit loudly. Then, looking up at Brightpaw, she shrugged. "If you want to. I don't really have anything to do today, anyways." With a last, very brief glance at the mysterious tom, she got up, tearing her gaze away. What was with her?
