Frustrated(Open)
A huge warrior the color of midnight sat next to the river, staring at the swollen expanse of darkness that, by now, swirled around the trunks of the trees closest to it on either side. Will her Clan allow her to come...? Or is she not even able to say goodbye? Batpaw shook away the thought, scattering droplets of rain from his fur. He shuffled his paws anxiously. If Leafpaw was able, she came every night they were supposed to meet. But ever since that fox-hearted Sweetfur and Fangheart had found them, he hadn't seen her. That had been three days ago.
He needed to see her. Needed to know she was okay. He knew they were only friends, and that it would be unlikely the tortoiseshell she-cat would ever feel the same about him that he did towards her. He sighed sadly, golden gaze locking onto the river.

Re: Frustrated(Open)
A shadow dislodged itself from the rest and snaked up a tree trunk. When the dark shape reached a low tree branch, the faint glow of the moon revealed a sleek black warrior. Her ice blue eyes sparkled with mischief as she watched the apprentice by the river. The rain slid down her glossy fur, melding it with the rain-soaked tree branch. She had scented another RiverClan cat on the way back from a solo hunt, and decided she would use her tracking skills as she hadn't found anything earlier.
What's he even doing? She wondered, still holding her gaze steadily. The midnight black she-cat barely even dared to breathe; she didn't want to be found. She continued to observe the dark tomcat. He seemed to be waiting for someone, but who?

Re: Frustrated(Open)
OOC: Shtupid Sweetfur.
Orcahrdpaw stared at the ground as she walked, her ears down and her tail drooping. This day, every day, was horrible. Rain rain rain, and... just terrible terrible. She felt greatly depressed today, and wandered without care, concern, or wit. Whatever happened happened. If she fell into the river, she could swim out. If she ran into a fox. So be it...
She walked unkowingly closer to the river. Its water scent covered by the smell of past rain and mud.

Re: Frustrated(Open)
Batpaw twitched his ears. Is someone there? He turned, his vision slightly blurred by night and rain, and stared into the darkness, his tail twitching. He closed his eyes, blending into the shadows, so that whoever it was couldn't see him.
Re: Frustrated(Open)
The shadowy black shape on the tree branch crouched lower and narrowed her eyes so that they were two minuscule chips of ice. Did he see me? She wondered, her heart pounding so loudly that she was surprised he couldn't hear it. But in spite of this, a smile crept onto her face. To her, this was just a game. A very, very amusing game.

Re: Frustrated(Open)
Orchardpaw looked up from her little depression. She looked around in confusion. Where had she gone? It almost scared her, but when she quickly recongnized the spot, the fright of being in new territory had almost crept up on her.
Not too far from her she noticed a figure. Her pelt bristled and she stalked closer. The cat was too dark for him to make him out. She sneaked closer, and when she caught the glimpse of recognition she brightened up.
"Batpaw!" She felt a little happier, knowing someone else was there. "How's it?"

Re: Frustrated(Open)
Batpaw growled, his voice muffled. He wasn't afraid, no. He'd done away with that useless emotion long ago, after he'd watched his mother die from illness. He lashed his tail and then was still, stretching his senses to see who was there.
Suddenly he heard Orchidpaw's voice, annoyingly loud in his ears. "Shhh," he hissed, opening his eyes to slits to turn and look at her without giving away his anger.

Re: Frustrated(Open)
Orchardpaw's eyes widen and she ducked down. Feeling once again self-concious. She'd messed up again. Maybe she would just lay there and be quiet. He didn't want her to speak, but... she wasn't just going to leave. Her ears dropped again and she looked down at the ground, sighing with sadness.

Re: Frustrated(Open)
Batpaw nodded appreciatively to Orchardpaw and placed his tail comfortingly on her shoulder. He'd recently become more empathetic. It was something he'd learned from Leafpaw.
Re: Frustrated(Open)
Orchardpaw was slightly assured by Batpaw's tail, but she still felt bad. She looked up at him, and she smiled a little, but it was weak, and it fadded quickly. Oh, what was she goign to do with herself?

Re: Frustrated(Open)
"Don't worry. Just stay quiet." Batpaw's voice was more than slightly annoyed, but it was soft and quiet too. Meant only for his denmate's ears.
Re: Frustrated(Open)
Ravenfeather let her narrowed blue gaze land on the second cat. It was Orchardpaw, this time. She called a greeting to the dark tomcat, and watched as Batpaw turned and hissed at her, then calmed her down in a rather exasperated, but soft tone.
She lay on the branch, a dark clump of unmoving shadow. Although her sleek pelt allowed the rain to slide off her pelt easily, she'd been lying there for so long that it was starting to pierce through. Bored, she got up and shook the raindrops out and off of her fur. Ah, she didn't care if they noticed her, it's not like she was being noisy or anything.
Her eyes glinted in the moonlight as she jumped off the branch and landed, to her surprise, quite gracefully. She sat down at the base of the tree and smoothed her chest fur down.

Re: Frustrated(Open)
Batpaw stiffened, opening his eyes fully. "Ravenfeather," he growled, recognizing the black she-cat easily. "Did you follow me?"
Re: Frustrated(Open)
Her blue eyes flicked lazily upwards as she continued to smooth down her fur, but she didn't lift her head. Only when it was almost plastered to her chest, she looked up, her eyes widening. She locked her eyes onto his and forced herself not to roll them. Does he think I have nothing better to do than follow him?
"No, I wasn't." She mewed. She lay down on her belly and stretched out her forelegs, her claws digging into the drenched ground in a stretch. Then she padded over to the riverbank and lay down, staring at her reflection. The ripples obscured the vision, making her slim figure seem wavy and choppy in the churning black water. She sighed quietly, cursing herself for not trying to make friends with an opportunity like so thrust in front of her. Her eyes darkened and she felt like lashing out a paw to make the cat reflected in the water disappear.

Re: Frustrated(Open)
Batpaw snorted. "Then what were you doing?" The young cat had always been bitter. Always. Ever since his newborn sisters died, so soon after their mother's death.
Re: Frustrated(Open)
She looked up and turned towards him, eyes flashing. "I could ask you the same thing!" She retorted. The growing feeling of emptiness that she always felt in the pit of stomach was nothing new to her, but it didn't mean she liked it. She was the only kit in her litter, or the only one that made it, at least. Both her mother and foster mother had died when she was a tiny kit, leaving her to fend for herself.

Re: Frustrated(Open)
Batpaw straightened, looking more like the huge, bulking cat he was. "I was out here to get some peace and quiet from that StarClan-forsaken camp!" he snapped, lashing his tail.
Re: Frustrated(Open)
"Yeah, well, maybe I was too." She said, more quietly this time. All of a sudden, she felt as if her energy was drained and she put her head down again. Whatever. She didn't care. But as she turned away from the other cats, her eyes saddened. Why didn't she care about losing everyone she was close to before?

Re: Frustrated(Open)
Batpaw growled and turned away. "Nobody else feels like I do! That camp is so noisy that I'm surprised all the prey isn't gone from that!" he spat.
Re: Frustrated(Open)
Orchardpaw listened silently to the exchanges. These two are made for each other, she thought in her head. Really, all they were doing was complaining, but it wasn't hers to complain about complaining, that was Batpaw's job. She looked at both cats and stood up to her full height, which was a moderate size. "How do you know that?" She questioned Batpaw.
She hated it when other cats compalined about their feelings while she was brooding over hers. She wasn't yelling them out to the skies, but... that's because she was too shy to say a thing about it.

Re: Frustrated(Open)
"How do I know what?!" Batpaw turned, his eyes molten gold. "I know because I haven't seen a mouse in camp for moons! I know because the only thing I've eaten, or anyone else has eaten, has been poisoned fish!"
Re: Frustrated(Open)
Orchardpaw flinched at Batpaw's words, but she tried to keep her ground. "Who cares about the mice? We don't eat them anyways! And the poison has to be long gone by now! It's been moons, the fish are fine, and last time I ate a fish I waqs feeling great!" They were all doing fine. They had food, and if anything, had meat on their bones. Their ribcages dind't show finely like the other cats in the other clans. As far as she was concerned, they were doing the best and they were doing fine.

Re: Frustrated(Open)
He felt his fur start to bristle. "If neither of you were so irritating, you would understand!" he snarled, digging his now unsheathed claws into the ground and making deep furrows. By now he wasn't talking about his own Clan.
Re: Frustrated(Open)
She wasn't that irritating? Was she? "Understand what? That there's less prey? A kit could see that!" What was wrong with him? Orchardpaw couldn't palce it. He was fine not too long ago. Had Ravenfeather started it? Or was it something else? Probably Ravenfeather.

Re: Frustrated(Open)
Batpaw hissed. "Both of you are so deaf and blind! What's happening to the other Clans now will be what happens to us soon!"
