Decision on the Punishment

Shadow sighed and sat up, facing her deputy Blackclaw. "So...about Smallpaw and the others..." ShadowStar began, gazing at Blackclaw calmly, "What could we have them do as punishment? Nothing too harsh..." she flicked a grasshopper off her tail and cocked her head, trying to think of something while waiting for a reply.

BlackClaw paused, his tongue sliding across his jaws in ponder. "I dunno." He sighed finally. "I guess we could give them longer hours for clan duty for a certain amount of time?" BlackClaw wrapped his thick tail around his body and gently flicked his front paws with it's tip. "What do you think?"

Shadow nodded thoughtfully, and said "We have quite a few kits without mentors, so maybe they can look after them and teach them to fight." she lifted a paw and licked some mud off the pad, before shuffling around to sit in a more comfortable position. "Maybe we should call the trio in to see us, ne?"

BlackPaw mused for a moment, and then nodded. "I'll go fetch them." He growled, pivoting and headed for the warriors den. Then he paused and turned back to his leader. "Should I call them discreetly? Or make their punishment known to the clan? You know, a bonus humiliation punishment." BlackClaw chuckled, with a hint of wickedness in his tone.

Shadowstar smiled softly. "No, call them discreetly. They'll be working with kits an' kits are nosy little creatures. The whole clan would know in no time anyway." she hid a snicker at BlackClaw's 'evilness'. Curling her tail around her paws again, she sat tall waiting.

BlackClaw resisted giving the tiniest growl of disapproval at Shadow's decision. "Fine." He began to head for the entrance and stopped. "Wait, won't they be on hunting patrol? I'm pretty sure it's their shift at the present time."

Shadow froze, then sharply turned her head in a 'damn!' gesture. "Yes...I believe it is their turn to go on the morning hunt." she glanced at Blackclaw again, "Would you prefer to wait for them to get back, or go out and find them?"

[BlackClaw]

BlackPaw sighed. "I'll wait. They shouldn't be too much longer." The deputy peered out of the den, up at the sky. "The Sun is nearly at it's highest height." He trotted back to his leader and collapsed into a lie-down position beside her, resting his head on his paws.

After a few hours, the sun turned to the west side of the sky - afternoon had arrived. "Let's go and get them." Shadow murmured to BlackClaw, shaking her dark pelt before trotting out into the main clearing.

"Right," BlackClaw growled with a swift nod of his head. With silent excitment of the near-future, the RiverClan deputy followed his beloved leader out of the Leader's Den.
