Wondering(Open)

[Naruto]

A big gray tom-cat stalked out of the warrior's den into the main clearing, a look of anxiety crossing his face as he passed the fresh-kill pile. We need more warriors and more prey...he thought, frowning at the dwindling pile of prey. He ignored the rumbling of his belly and went to sit in the farthest corner of camp, in the shadows that drenched the camp like fog.

Smoketail's amber eyes widened as he looked towards the sky, enjoying the beauty of the falling snowflakes and yet cursing them. It meant that his Clan had less prey, and that helped nothing. What if DarkClan attacked again? Would they make sure to wipe WindClan out next time, not leaving any survivors? He shook his head. No need for such thoughts.

[Mosspaw]

Mosspaw slipped into the camp, defeated from his battle in the tournament, but he didn't have much of a chance anyway. He saw a figure in the corner of the camp, and since he needed some company, he decided he wanted to talk to someone. He walked towards the cat, and as he got closer, he could make out the large gray shape of Smoketail, a much older cat than he was, considering that he was a warrior, Mosspaw guessed that he would make good company. Smoketail and him didn't know eachother well, so he took this opportunity to get to know him. As he got closer, he saw that Smoketail was watching the sky, the snow, and the stars. "Hello there, Smoketail, whats up?" Mosspaw asked, sitting down next to the warrior.

[Naruto]

"I'm just wondering what we're to do. We have to have more warriors to be strong enough to defend ourselves, but more warriors means we need more prey, which we do not have enough of."he replied in his usual calm meow, eyes still on the sky. "I guess you could say being deputy isn't an easy thing in this time of need,"he said, looking down and at Mosspaw.

[Wolvine]

Rabbittail looked up and saw two toms. Lets see... I belive their names are Smoketail and...Um... Mosskit? He looked again and realized how big Mosspaw was. No he must be an apprentice by now. He looked down at his scrawny rabbit and finished it, then stood and went over to his deputy and the apprentice, waving his stump of a tail in greeting.

[Naruto]

Smoketail dipped his head, not saying anything. He knew that Rabbittail was deaf, and he wasn't about to say anything because he wouldn't hear it.

[Mosspaw]

Mosspaw nodded a hello to Rabbittail, before continuing, "At least this leaf-bare isn't terrible, and plus, there will be more kits when new-leaf comes. Or so I heard." Mosspaw hadn't ever seen new-leaf, but he heard that it is a great time, with flourishing life all across the clans. Mosspaw sighed. "Leaf-bare is tough, though, if another clan were to attack, we'd surely be doomed, but I would guess that the other clans are suffering just as much as we."

[Wolvine]

Rabbitail's useless ears flicked and looked at Mosspaw. The cat was obviously saying something, for his mouth was moving, but all the deaf warrior could hear was a very faint but steady murmur. They must be talking about Leaf-bare... The battered white cat thought. Its all anybody ever talks about now....

[Naruto]

"It's not Leafbare I'm worried about... I have a feeling that once the snow ends, the rain will begin again and we will flood,"he said, hanging his head. "And Windstorm's and Halostep's kits are almost ready to be apprentices."

[Mosspaw]

"Well that's some good and some bad." Mosspaw said. "The good is that they're going to be apprenticed, the bad is, the flooding... and that the Apprentice's Den is about to get kind of crowded. But the flooding won't last forever, and we're on the high ground, so we have less to worry about than Riverclan, Thunderclan, or Shadowclan. I'd guess that Fireclan is fine, considering their land should be dry anyway, they might actually get stronger with the rain." Mosspaw said, hoping that he was right on at least some of his points. He now saw that Smoketail didn't think only negative, or only positive, he saw the full picture, just as Mosspaw did.

[Naruto]

"Yes...I suppose your right,"he murmured, looking at him. "But RiverClan might come to our territory to hunt, since their land is downhill and they have the river and it will surely flood. ShadowClan might do the same, as they have before in the past." Smoketail sighed;being deputy meant that he was just pawsteps away from being leader, and with Wolfstar being sick, he was practically a leader with only one life. He had so much to think about and do, it amazed him sometimes that just seasons before he was protesting to becoming a warrior, because he'd felt he hadn't learned enough.

[Mosspaw]

"And I hope that we will be ready, we can fight much better than any waterlogged cat. Besides, if the river does flood so terribly, any clan would have a tough time catching our prey, but all of their prey would drown or move into our terriory, or Fireclan's. Let's just hope that Shadowclan and Riverclan don't unite." Mosspaw said, really really really hoping that the clans wouldn't attack ours, we aren't doing well as it is.
