All I want is for our kits to be safe." His claws grated against the cave floor as he thought about slashing this 'Nightstar' cat's throat out.

That didn't even make sense! The calm Clovernose couldn't even keep her cool with something like this. It was absurd!

Gizmo! She yowled in her mind. How were her kits supposed to grow up without knowing where their own father was! This was crazy! Insane! This cat made her fur bristle, and bristle it did, high, making he look larger. What was wrong with him! What was his judgment behind this! This crazy cat made no sense!

Clovernose's ears drooped as Church touched her nose. "Why?" She asked Nightstar, "Why have one brother without the other? Why have only two of us? Please, can you tell me your reasoning?" She said rather calmly in her most aggravated and stressed state.

Clovernose smiled happiness flowing through her, she was still irritated with the whole immediate kick out thing, but she could ignore it for now. "Thank all for Bengal then, I guess." She shrugged. She didn't know her brother was enough to get him to change his mind. But why? Oh well, who cares? Better not to ask, right? She purred. "I'm sure you will, Church."
