Barkfur stood outside the camp entrance and drank in the earthy scents of the woods. She noticed a slight scent of thrush and followed it through the trees. It led past the old badger set and she tracked little more than two fox-lengths past the Sky Oak. She flexed her claws and scratched the tree she was about to climb for some exercise. "Here goes nothing." she smiled and said inward to her self. She gasped the bark and clawed her way up, letting the thrush scent guide her. She found 5 small eggs, about 3 weeks old. She grasped one carefully in her jaw and brought it down to the roots. Barkfur dug a small hole and placed the egg gently in it. Climbing back up, she noticed sharp trills of chirping of birds near the eggs. Once she reached the branch where the bird nest was, a large male sat fluffing his feathers out to try to scare her away. Quickly she jumped on the thrush, finishing it off fast. She figured she could hold more than one egg so she took the thrush and then took one egg, taking it as gently as the first and dropped both off at the hole. She went back up and got the 3 other eggs and placed them into the hole. She clawed out some loose dirt and covered the eggs and father thrush up.
She drank in the familiar earthy scents once again and shook with surprise, a pheasant! She quickly ran to the scent and crouched imediatly when she found the brightly colored bird, as large as a fox. It was going to be the first pheasant she got herself, her mentor had hunted one down with her, this bird was big enough to feed the whole clan. If she got lucky, another cat would find her, and help her kill this juicy-meated bird.

Thunderfeather stalked up to a mouse,the small creature too busy nibbling a seed to notice the large tabby. With a low growl,she leaped,biting the mouse's neck to kill it. Feeling it go limp in her jaws,she smiled with satisfaction and buried it,snickering softly. Ah,she loved to kill,to feel the power in her paws when her prey's life blood drained from them. She scented the air,smelling Barkfur. "What are you doing out here?"she asked roughly.

"Quiet!" she hissed back quietly. "Look, you and me are going to take it down." she pointed her tail to the pheasant in front of her.

Thunderfeather nodded,sinking as low as her large frame would allow. She cautiously drew her paw forth,quietly slinking towards the bird. Her claws unsheathed,glinting with a cruel light from the pale glow of the moon.

"Wait!" she once again hissed. "We have to flank it. You go up front and I'll circle around the back of it and take it down, then you come and help me kill it off quickly. Understood?" she instructed. She could tell that the warrior next to her never hunted pheasant before.

Thunderfeather growled bad temperedly and nodded,stopping her slow walk. Amber eyes gleaming,she looked hungrily at the large bird.

Barkfur stalked around the bird and tensed ready to pounce. Waiting for it to bend down to get it's food, she drew her claws out. Seeing the bird's neck go down, she jumped directly onto it's shoulder's, causing it to go down "Now!" she yowled to Thunderfeather, this was going to quick. Either they were about to take the biggest prey the clan has ever seen, or they were about to become the laughing stock of the forest. She began tearing out feathers in the birds neck and started biting down, hoping the warrior with her would join in.

Thunderfeather jumped,landing on the bird. She opened her jaws and bit down hard on it's throat,cutting off the scream of the dieing bird. She growled and bit down even harder,her eyes shining with cruel enjoyment.

[Goldenstorm]

"We did it!" she meowed in sheer excitement. "We got the pheasant! Let's bring it back to camp!" Dawn was on it's way and they weren't that far away from the camp. She began dragging the oversized bird extremely slow across the ferns.

Thunderfeather hissed in pleasure and used her bulk to pull the bird over the ground.
