The Mysterious Loner

[Naruto]

A large black-and-white tom sat in the opening of a fox hole,his blue eyes glittering. His name was Danai,and this was his home. He looked around and sighed,as he still wasn't quite used to being fully alone yet. He got up and ran into the trees,feeling exposed. He must have scared a mouse,because it ran straight into his black paws. I wonder,he thought to himself,killing the creature. Are there any more cats like me out here?

[Hetalia]

Ravenfeather was hunting and had just noticed Danai."Hello,who are you?"

[Naruto]

Danai smiled at the cat. "Hello,there! I am Danai. I live around here."his black and white tail twitched. "And you are?"he asked curiously.

[DOCTA OCTAGONAPUS]

Aspenleaf was crouched, stalking a mouse. Suddenly, it dashed away. Growling, he pelted after it. He halted, almost crashing into Ravenfeather.
"Watch were you're going, mouse br-" his eyes flicked toward the black and white tom in front of them. He bristled, baring his teeth.
"Intruder!" he inched toward the tom. "Why are you on ThunderClan territory?"

[Naruto]

Danai blinked. "I live here."he mewed calmly. He tipped his head to the side. "Who are you and what is this..ThunderClan?" He sat calmly,his blue eyes shining with greeting. He'd been here for eight months now,being twenty eight months old now.

[DOCTA OCTAGONAPUS]

He hissed. "That's on a need-to-know basis." he unsheated his claws. "And loners like you don't steal prey from my Clan." he lunged, claws slashing.

[Naruto]

Danai winced as claws sliced his flank. His eyes widened,and a startled hiss escaped his lips. He stepped away,just in case this new cat wanted to claw him again. "I only hunt what I need,"he growled,flexing sharp claws. He didn't want to fight,but if this cat attacked again,he would have to defend himself.

[Hetalia]

"Aspenleaf wait...We need to see what he wants.You were once a loner."

[Naruto]

Danai loked at Ravenfeather,confused. "I have no clue what you are talking about,"he growled in a slightly calmer voice. "I've lived here for at least a season now,hunting only what I need and fighting when I must." He realized his tail was bristling and he smoothed it,closing his blue eyes and inhaling deeply. When he opened his eyes again,he scuffled his black paws on the ground,tearing at the grass with long claws.

[DOCTA OCTAGONAPUS]

Aspenleaf glared back at Ravenfeather. He stepped back. The warrior's words stung him.


URRGGGGG SHORT

[Naruto]

Danai looked over at this 'Aspenleaf'. He wrinkled his nose,noticing for the first time the smell of theses cats. "That's the same smell that's outside my den,"he muttered,curling his lip to let the stench out. He grumbled and hissed impatiently. "When will you tell me why I've done wrong when my home is here,as well as my mother's and her mother's before that?"

[Hetalia]

"Nothing really.But you see we have this place as our territory.You should be able to smell our scent here."

[Naruto]

"Your....scent?"Danai asked,confused. He then shook his head,smiling. "Okay,Clan cats,I'll get back into my little territory. Take this;I don't need it. I ate earlier,but as you can tell,that storm's gonna break soon. But feel free to come back. My den could use a little company." With a wistful smile and a sparkle in his icy eyes,he turned and padded in the direction of the old fox-den he lived in. He turned his head once,just to make sure that one cat didn't rush him again.

[Hetalia]

"Well that went well."Ravenfeather was pretty content.

[Naruto]

Just before he had left,Danai had tossed the mouse towards Aspenleaf. "Enjoy.."the words echoed out of a fox den that Danai now occupied. He stepped inside,feeling the cold,rough edges of stone on his pads. He continued down the tunnel,inhaling the scent of moss that rapidly grew stronger. Then,he stepped into a small hole,maybe.......13 tail-lengths across and 15 wide. Just big enough for a moss-and-feathers nest. He stepped inside the nest,before getting up again. Better block the entrance,just in case it rains. So he did,grabbing the large rock that he kept solely for this purpose. He put it in the narrow entrance,only a faint out line of light visible. Then he turned,and went to his nest,where he fell asleep.
