In a patch of sunlight WolfFang was laying down and nibbling on a mouse. He was feeling in very sad mood. He wanted to talk to somebody, but he didn't want at the same time. Earlier that day he talked to his mom about his new Warrior-ship and she brought up his dad again, who had died after he became an apprentice. WolfFang wished he knew more but, he didn't. What if I talk to the Medicine Cat? He thought. He was about to get up when he realized he was to lazy to get up. Oh StarClan, give me something to do! Or someone to talk to! He prayed to StarClan briefly looking up.

Moonfur walked toward WolfFang.''Hey get up Nightleaf needs you to collect some juniper berries and then we have to go on a hunting patrol.

((Moonfur means to help carry them I think, but that would be an apprentices job...))

"Isn't helping him an apprentice's job?" WolfFang asked. "But if he wants me to then, I guess I have to." He got up and padded towards medicine cat's den. He stepped through the ferns and saw NightLeaf rearrange things in the back room. "MoonFur told me you needed me." WolfFang meowed.

Yeah last time when I was collecting herbs I almost got killed by a badger so now I like taking a warrior with me.

"Good, I need a walk out of camp. There is so much on my mind." WolfFang meowed. In fact there were a lot of thoughts running through his mind, ranging from his dad to his mom. "Do I pick berries also?" WolfFang continued.

Hawkfire padded up to Nightleaf and WolfFang. "Nightleaf, I've been told to accompany you and WolfFang while you go get herbs." He dipped his head to WolfFang. "Greetings" he said.

"Hello. Sorry, but I've never met you, who are you?" WolfFang asked, bowing his head also.

"I'm Hawkfire, the deputy. I've seen you around the camp before."

[Redfur/Oceanbreeze]

"Ah! Now I remember. So, hows being deputy?" WolfFang asked, licking his paw and swiping it over his ear.

Hawkfire sat down. "Been fine, nothing bad going on. Yet. Now that I'm deputy, I get more respect from other warriors that didn't care about at all when I was a warrior." He paused. "And you seem to be the type that'd be a good leader. Your former mentor says that too." He stretched, wanting to get moving.

[Redfur/Oceanbreeze]

"Yeah, well, my father was a former leader. Did you know Pantherstar?" He asked looking at Hawkfire's eyes. "He died just after my I became and apprentice."

Hawkfire nodded. "He was a good leader. I had just gotten appointed a warrior and I was choosing my new nest in the warriors den when he died. Some cats blamed me, that Starclan had not wanted me as a warrior, and killing Pantherstar was their sign." He sighed, recalling memories. "But it was just a coincidence, I'm sure of it."

[Redfur/Oceanbreeze]

"Hopefully. Did you know he had a child? Most didn't, until I was born he always to me to ignore people if they asked about my mother." WolfFang meowed. He looked around the den. NightLeaf was still getting ready and an apprentice was eating some juniper berries.

Sanface was returning from a hunt. HEr paw was badly injured. She had stepped on a thorn, and the thron went all the way through. You could see the point from the top of her paw, and the blunt end in her pad. She had tried to walk on it, but everytime she yowled in pain.

Sandface poked her head through the medicine cat den. "Nightleaf, can you take a look at my paw?" She said pushing her paw toward him.
