Shadowclaw padded towards the mouth of the Medicine cat den. He took a deep breath and called,
"Echopaw I need to talk to you!" He hoped she would answer. He padded inside and sniffed the cool air around him. Leafsongs scent still hung in the air mingled with the smell of herbs and Echopaw.
"Echopaw please!" He called when there was no reply.

[Riber~]

Echopaw begrudgingly turned around; revealing herself from the shadows. She did not wish to speak with him at the time but with an effort her voice came out smoothly. "Yes Shadowclaw?" She mewed before bending over to replace a herb to it's proper place; laying it gently down as to not ruffle the edges. When finished, she turned her slender face to Shadowclaw, eyes emotionless.

[Cheesles]

He looked from his paws to her eyes, his eyes were wet with tears. He didn't know where to start.
"Our friendship means alot to me and I think it is speacial to you too and that is why we need to stick together. I am sorry if I hurt you but Leafsong would want us to stay together. The truth is, I like you too. Tonight we will hold vigal with her and I want to do it beside you. You will make an amazing medicine cat. Tigerkit in the nursery was telling me how much she wanted to be like you and Leafsong. Mentor her, teach her the ways of a mediine cat!" By the end Shadowclaws eyes had dampened.
"So what do you say Echopaw? I'll start. I am really sorry!"

[Riber~]

Echopaw cocked her head to one side, she was a medicine cat! "I accept your apology Shadowclaw ... but you know I am a medicine cat. I am not quite ready to take on an apprentice yet."

[Cheesles]

"I think you are. I am going to talk to Shadowstar about it. I think Tigerkit would love you to be her mentor, she looks up to you so much." Shadowclaw sighed as he looked into Echopaws eyes.

[Amberstorm]

The plants in the medicine cat den started to swish by the force of an invisible wind.
"Echopaw, I'm sorry I left you." The old medicine cat meowed to her old apprentice, hoping she would reply.
"I do not know why StarClan has done this. You were hardly ready! Which is why I will still teach you and Tigerkit the ways of a medicine cat, regardless of what StarClan does." Leafsong promised.

[Riber~]

Echopaw looked up with a startled gasp as a misty cat came from the heavens. Herbs swayed and swished in the newcome breeze. Hearing her mentor's voice the she-cat purred. "Leafsong! I know it's not your fault ... This is just coming so fast I can't keep up with any of it!" Sighing, Echopaw dipped her head. "Will you teach me through my dreams?"

[Cheesles]

As the mist swirled around Shadowclaw, his lost love would be in his dreams.

[Amberstorm]

Leafsong smiled warmly.
"Of course I shall mentor you in your dreams!"

(Sooooooooooo short.)
