Some more hunting.

[Riber~]

Silvercloud led Leopardpaw out of the clearing, having hopes that the apprentice would be just as good at hunting as he was at fighting. Her paws led her to her favorite spot, a huge rock as to which prey scurried to and fro, bushes surrounding the area. A ruffling was heard through the leaves and Silvercloud waved her tail to Leopardpaw, getting his attention, before motioning towards the sound. A plump little mouse.

Moving into the bushes parallel to the mouse he crept diagonal toward
it keeping under cover and staying low enough so his fur didn't brush
the leaves on the bushes or his paws pad on the leaves on the ground.
There was a tiny stillness, before Leopardpaw rushed from cover, the
mouse scurrying away but Leopardpaw used his powerful hind legs he
leaped right on top of the mouse, crushing it with his claws before it
could utter a sound, grabbing the mouse by the tail he turned to his
mentor Silvercloud happily.

[Riber~]

"Nice work." Silvercloud purred quietly, not wanting to scare anymroe prey in the area. She walked a few pawsteps before motioning to Leopardpaw with her tail. "Have you ever hunted rabbit?" She whispered in his ear quickly. A scrawny rabbit lay ahead; although enough to feed two cats at the most. Silver fur still shining in the sunlight, she unsheathed her claws. Just in case.

"No. Can you show me?" asked Leopardpaw looking prideful at his mentor as he buried the mouse, he was so glad he had gotten Silvercloud as a mentor, she was the best. He followed her and looked at the mouse, he didn't want to chase after such fast prey when his leg injury still bugged him a tiny bit, but he wondered if it would be okay to at least try it after he saw how you catch a rabbit, he only knew it was nothing like catching a mouse or a vole.

[Riber~]

Silvercloud nodded silently, pulling back on her hind legs. The rabbit had less then a second before the she-cat was shooting after it, quick and lithe, mirroring the rabbit's every move. As her legs pumped through the more open ground a log was seen up ahead; a hole just big enough for the rabbit to scurry through, not big enough for her. Hissing to herself her muscles coiled as the rabbit bounded into the hole, obviously going to be coming out the other side in moments. Taking the detour route, Silvercloud pushed off with her back legs, propelling herself into the air, square over the log, just in time for the rabbit to literally run in to her paws. A quick swipe and the rpey was on it's back; another bite to the neck and it was hers.

Picking it up, Silvercloud bounded back over to Leopardpaw, rabbit straining her neck. She set it down to speak to her apprentice. "As long as you have speed the rabbit won't stand a chance."

"Whoa." Leopardpaw mewed quietly, looking around the forest, so much prey in Greenleaf, he had to find another rabbit or something to prove himself to his mentor. Opening his mouth and breathing in all the scents he could only scent squirrels, mice and a vole or two, but not his favored rabbit. Oh, well... He would have to settle for the next best thing a nice juicy vole homing in on his target he dropped into the hunters crouch, sneaking silently in the sun staying close to the log so that he didn't stick out as much as on the grass, he eyed the juicy morsel happily. And dashed out, the fat vole almost had no time to react as Leopardpaw raced toward it, but his leg injury kept him from moving full speed and the vole raced into a hole out of reach. "Fox Dung!"

[Riber~]

Silvercloud watched silently, twitching her ears when he did something she wouldn't have. As he lost the vole the she-cat padded over to the crestfallen tom. "No worries. We will find another. I would very much suggest working on hunting more based on patience then speed. No wrenching that leg anymore today." She raised her head to look at the blue sky, filled with fluffy clouds. Beautiful. "Try a mouse or squirrel. Perch yourself beside one tree and awit silently. Be sure to keep your tail still at all costs."

Climbing a tree, well that was easy every cat was born with ability to climb. Walking up to the nearest tree he scrambled up using his claws to hook himself on a branch, he blended with the leaves and wood of the tree almost perfectly the next time a squirrel scurried up here he could kill it in a second, and if a mouse was down below he could easily jump right out of the tree and catch it. Perfect.

[Riber~]

Silvercloud darted to the other side, being sure to blend rather well to the grass; or at least as well as a silver cat could. She watched silently as a plump squirrel scurried up the tree, a nut in his puny hands. What a stupid thing, running right into the hands of it's killer. She looked upwards, making sure she could see whatever Leopardpaw was doing.

Leopardpaw growled lightly, before shooting out of the branch and biting into his squirrel, but he soon plummeted into open space, as the bark of the tree broke off under his claws. Yowling with shock he hit the a bush with a THUMP! And then it was done, his head popped out of the leafy bushy shaking scattered debris off his head, he was lucky that there was even a bush to protect his fall, if their hadn't been he would have broken his leg or worse died.

Silvercloud yowled in shock as the large apprentice bowled out of the tree. She rushed over to him, glaring at him with worried anxiousness. "Leopardpaw! Are you alright?!" Her mind whirled as she sniffed him over, making sure nothing was broken or any cuts were torn open.

"I caught a squirrel!" Leopardpaw mewed happily, jumping out of the bush and laying his squirrel down. On the ground, "I'm fine." He mewed shaking his injured hind leg happily. There wasn't an inch of shock in him he was just happy he had caught a squirrel.

[Riber~]

Silvercloud sighed with relief before allowing her whiskers to twitch with amusement. All he cared was that he had caught the squirrel! She was quite impressed with his leap, he had skyrocketed into the air before free-falling. "Nice work." She mewed with eyes brimming with praise. "I think we have plenty. Let us head home." The silver she-cat padded back to her rabbit, picking it up in her jaws while waiting for Leopardpaw. She slowed ehr trot when he caught up.

"How many moons are you now Leopardpaw?"

"Uh... 9 Moons I think. Why do you ask?" Leopardpaw murmured digging up his mouse and squirrel, ready to head back camp, he couldn't wait to tell the other apprentices about his excursion today, they would be so impressed, plus he still had another story from yesterday to tell them, they would lie down at his paws with how much he knew. He finally felt caught up, though he didn't know the territory very well, but he still knew how good of an apprentice he was.

[Riber~]

"9, huh? Hmm ..." Silvercloud paused, weighing her words carefully. She didn't want him to burst with his pride for himself. Not like Tigerstar. "I think you are almost ready to become a warrior. You just have to go to one Gathering first. A few more training sessions are for surely in order. I still have many tricks to teach you. A border patrol or two and you will be set." Her voice trailed down the forest, liquid honey; sweet and soft. "I will very much miss having you as an apprentice though. You are like a kit to me." Her eyes squinted with pride for Leopardpaw. Silvercloud's paws led her back to camp, slowly. As they reached an area very close to camp the she-cat turned to face Leopardpaw. "Do not think your claws are used for killing, merely defending." Her eyes smoldered with some unknown exspression "You can be the best warrior the forest has ever seen; but not like Tigerstar. You can't let yourself get like him Leopardpaw. Never. Never let him get the best of you." Within seconds the exspression was gone, eyes back to their normal soft and gentle ways.

"Battle training in the morning. Tomorrow we work on variations and swiping styles." Her mother's scent wafted past her subtly; is that a sign that I'm training him right or wrong mother? She shook her head slightly, bahinshing those thoughts. She refused to allow him to be ruthless.

Leopardpaw smiled joyously, he could be a warrior in no time, he couldn't believe that he was so close. And that Silvercloud actually thought of him as her kit. "Just because I won't be your apprentice for much longer, you'll still be like a mother to me." But then his eyes filled with a glimmer of anger, she was actually comparing him to the scum Tigerstar!? Leopardpaw hid his anger by touching noses with his ment or before padding off angrily, was he like Tigerstar, could he ever kill his own clan mates to get what he wanted, he had never even thought about power only protecting his clan mates.

Silvercloud suspected an angry response from him, and she got it. Although Leopardpaw was trying to hide it; she noticed. Sighing slightly, the female padded towards camp, calling after her apprentice. "Eat something. You had a hard day." She murmured before depositing her fresh-kill on the well-stocked pile. The sun was just beginning to slip over the horizon,the light still bright.
