Sandface's paw

"Nightleaf!" Sandface called as she leaped into camp. Quickly, she padded toward his den. "Nightleaf!" She mewed. While out hunting on her own she got a thorn so embedded in her left paw that you could actually see the tip of it from the top of her paw, and the blunt in at the bottem. It was still oozing out blood, and dirt managed to make its way in there on her way back. "Ow," she moaned, while waiting for the medicine cat.

"Can you take a look at my paw?" Blood still slowly oozed out as she pushed her paw to the medicince cat.

Without saying a word he carefully pulled it out."Lick it until it stops bleeding."

Rapidly she began licking it, but blood oozed out faster now that it was disloged. She had seen the tip of the thorn from the top of her paw so she knew it was going to bleed, but she didn't expect it to bleed this much. Sitting down, she continued to lick at the hole in her paw.

Moonpaw came out from the back of Nightleafs den. "Nightleaf, what do I need to get for Sandface's paw?" She had only just begun being a medicine cat apprentice, and didn't know much of the herbs let alone what herbs are needed when a thorn gets in a paw.

"Nightleaf it's still bleeding!" Sanface complained, "And it hurts!" Moonpaw padded up slowly, and sniffed it. "I think it's getting infected." Her sister mewed. Gingerly she licked Sandface's paw, pulling back and making a face she meowed, "There's dirt all in it and around it. You didn't walk on it did you?"
"Yes, was I not supposed to?"
"It would've helped keep it clean, but there was most likely dirt on the thorn."

"Infected?"He got some cobwebs."Moonpaw put this on her paw."He started looking for herbs."Found it!Moonpaw this one is marigold its leaves used to treat infection and heal wounds and sores.This one is chervil root also used to treat infections.I also got a poppy seed.This wil make her sleepy."

Moonpaw began cheweing the bitter asting herbs to make a poultice, being careful not to swallow any of the juice. As Sandface lifted her paw she began licking hard on the wound to get the juices in. "Like this?" she meowed past the juice.

"Yup.You learn quickly."

Moonpaws pelt prickled with embaressment at her mentors complement. "Thanks," she mewed.
