Having Fun

Flintpaw tossed her fresh-kill on the pile and turned to leave the camp. She finished all her duties, now she was going to have a bit of fun for herself. She started to pad out of camp, not a care in the world, though she still wasn't smiling. She wouldn't do that until she got out of camp.

Maplepaw marched back into camp, a squirrel, two mice, and a vole in her jaws. All of them thin. She passed by that annoying she-cat Flintpaw. What was that creeps problem? No one ever talked to her, Maplepaw bet even her own mother didn't want to see her, that's why she probably ran in front of that monster. "Freak." she murmured under her breath as she passed her.

Flintpaw turned to glare at Maplepaw. "Flea-bitten kittypet." she mewed coldly. She whipped back around, her tail proud and her head held high though the insults hurt. She began to pad out the entrance.

Even though the flea-bitten kittypet comment was real. Maplepaw had been in enough insult fights to know not to say that something was wrong. That meant you didn't have something to say. "Motherless whelp." she replied, dropping her catch in the freshkill pile. At least she had gotten more than some other people, but still not much. She didn't even feel like turning to look at Flintpaw, it wasn't worth it. She wasn't worth it. Besides, she had more important things to do.

Flintpaw turned around more angry now. "Worthless kit." she retorted, her fangs peeking out her lips. She laughed at Maplepaw "Look at those things, a kit wouldn't even be full with those." she pointed to her vole, a little plumper than others.

"And yet, I'm still a better fighter and hunter." murmured Maplepaw as quiet as possible. She may be small for an apprentice but she could easily claw off the face of a warrior. She didn't even turn back to look at Flintpaw. "One vole. I suspect you think the Clan will all take turns taking a single bite out of it? Quantity over quality." Maplepaw closed her eyes, brushing past the she-cat barely even caring that she was actually there.

"One full warrior is better than three half-dying ones." Flintpaw coldly meowed, turning once more to leave the camp.

"That's what one with the brain of a squirrel says, then it must be true." she murmured sarcastically, heading to the Nursery, where her mother must be. At least she could say she finished the fight. That always meant you won... Well, usually.

"At least a squirrel brain beats one of a rock." Flintpaw breathed under her breath, finally out of the camp and in the territory.
