"Oh, I thought I'd give you the pleasure of thinking you could land the first hit." she purred, her voice silky. Foxpaw was gone in an instant, her short, stocky legs pushing her off to the left of Kestrelpaw in a blinding flash of bright ginger fur. Her claws outstretched, she tried to tackle him to his side, maybe impaling his throat in her claws. Maybe just inflicting a minor scrape on his shoulder. Hopefully she could get him down. Even the most novice fighter knew that, most likely, if you were pinned in battle, you were a dead cat.

Griffinshade sat back, ready to break up the fight the moment it went over the line, of course they had pretty much already crossed that line. But still, he was still going to try to obey to the warrior code as much as possible and not let Kestrelpaw be killed.

What!? Oh no, she said he couldn't land a hit? See, now it's going down. It was leg rippin' time. After his whole "Griffonshade battle" he'd vented most of his anger and now he could think rationally, as well, he was more aware after that rear-kicking. He didn't want to be... flipped over and kicked again. What ever Griffonshade had done, the weirdo.

But, all the same. He had this crazy... death.... she-cat didn't get the upper hand since she was crazy and totally disregarded the warrior code in her craze-a-thon-of-craze, but really, he just took this from this first fight they had where she was totally and utterly full crazy, but was that a good gauge? Yes.

He tried to follow her with his eyes, but he was seconds off, but even so, he had a good idea of what to go. She was going for him, probably to knock him down, so he should use his weight against her, right? Kestrelpaw, hoping her claws weren't out so he'd get pierced, but actually her face so he could possibly break her neck (or was that unnaturally violent), pushed her body towards her in one powerful thrust, hoping to ram her off her balance.

Foxpaw hissed, pushing back with her hind paws to narrowly avoid the tackle. She reared up, aiming to crash down on Kestrelpaw's head with unsheathed claws while he was still defenseless.

Kestrelpaw suddenly felt pain in the back of his as he fell towards the mud. Not being the one to want mud in his face to cloud his sight, he ducked his head down as he fell, the new curve allowing him to simply roll onto his back, belly exposed. He rolled over to his feet and, still crouching. He pushed off in a pounce, just like he would to catch any mouse, so he could catch onto her back and attack her head and back.

An angry caterwaul erupted from Foxpaw's lips as Kestrelpaw latched on to her back. On instinct, she leaped high into the air and flipped over, trying to squish him under her weight. The downside was that it would leave her belly exposed for a moment.

Using the same method just-so-recently told by Griffonshade, Kestrelpaw jumped off of Foxpaw just before she got herself into the air. Well, there was one thing he could thank him for. Using all of his speed, Kestrelpaw went at Foxpaw almost as soon as she landed and went for her stomach with his claws.

Quick as a snake, Foxpaw slithered just out of reach, flipping over onto her paws. Her eyes bright with anger and exhilaration, she lunged forward, her front paws outstretched. She'd been practicing with a new move for some time when her mentor and 'fellow' apprentice weren't watching, so now she got to show it!

If her move worked right, her forepaws would land on either side of Kestrelpaw's, then she would twist, yanking his paws out from under him and rolling him over, exposing his belly.

Griffinshade let his eyes light up with curiosity as he marveled at his apprentice, he'd never seen the move before and he was eager to see what he effect would have on Kestrelpaw.
