Soulpaw trotted through the forest with few cares. Her apprenticeship was going great, Joypaw was her friend, and she could strech her legs away from camp. Her dappled pelt brushed against a fern and sprinkled some water. She stopped and shivered, the water flying off. She continued on her way and a thought hit her, what was Twilightpaw up to? She hadn't seen him except for sometimes in the Apprentice's Den. Besides that, he had disappeared from her life. She couldn't tell if she was glad or missing the tom.

Twilightpaw leaped from the top of a tree, his claws out stretched as he landed on a nimble branch that was barely wider than his tail. His paws poised so that he could stand with out slipping. He scurried across the branch, clinging to the wider support of a wet oak. The rain was still falling, endlessly. Though he wished things would pick up, an earthquake had interrupted a Gathering and Silverstar still hadn't gotten the picture. They weren't welcome in this place anymore. He leaped again, racing across a branch before leaping and spreading out his limbs almost like a squirrel. It was surprising how easy he found tree leaping. It did teach him a lot of ways to catch flying prey, if he had any flying prey to taste it on. Almost all the birds in the area had fled, and he didn't dare go up against the ones still there that were larger than he was.

Distracted by his own thoughts, Twilightpaw missed the branch he was aiming for an with a strangely feminine but still terrifying shriek that sounded like half a purr he plummeted. His tail twitched telling him to flip in air before he collided with the ground on his back. Instantly, he obeyed his instincts turning over so that he would land on both legs, equally spreading out the impact. Stupid! If you're going to climb trees, the least you can do is stay focused! But the mental abuse would have to come later as the water was whipped from his eyes and fur torn as if he were in the middle of a wild gale. And then he hit the ground. Thankfully, on a soft pile of moss instead of a stone quarry where he most certainly would have died. He landed with an ominous thump and remained still buried in moss.

Soulpaw's only warning was a she-cat's shriek that sounded like it was having fun. Though the sound also caused the fur on the back of her spine to stand up. Almost instantly afterwards something fell onto her back. She collasped to the ground and let out a small squeak. She thought someone was attacking her until she smelled the ThunderClan scent. When she focused more she recognized the scent. Speak of the devil. To confirm herself she asked, "Twilightpaw?"

"No... It's Nightstar. OF COURSE IT'S ME!" Yowled Twilightpaw, sticking his black and gray head out of the moss, he limped out of the pile shaking his fur and moving forward holding his front right paw above the ground as it hung in a slightly limp way. He wasn't truly angry at Soulpaw, though he usually had a reason to be, in fact he was more agitated at himself for losing focus, and this she-cat just happened to be the only one there to take the full brunt of his scorn. Twilightpaw may be smart but even he didn't have control of his emotions.

Soulpaw flinched at Twilightpaw's harsh tone. She stood up and watched him limp as he held right forepaw above the ground. She flattened her ears and asked, "Why're you always in a foul mood?" He always seemed to be picking on her in some way or another. Did he just not like her, or something? She found it quiet irritating and because she was more sociable, she'd voice it.

"Why are you always whining about something. You're not a kit anymore so stop acting like one! Not everyone is your friend..." In fact, right now, Twilightpaw felt like the kit. A wounded and frail kit. But he still managed to stand tall, only flinching in when his dangling paw touched ground. Pain blurred his vision or was it tears coming forward. He closed his eyes and forced them back, continuing his lonesome march toward's camp.

Soulpaw wasn't whining, she was only wondering something. She knew that not everyone was her friend. Joypaw and Blazesong were about the only two cats she talked to. Besides Twilightpaw, but they were always arguing about something. She didn't want to fight with him though, he was her Clanmate! She watched as he started limping back towards camp. He wasn't complaining about it, but any right minded cat could see he was in pain. He was probably just trying to hide the pain. She ignored that harsh words he had said and scurried up next to him. "You need help?" she asked sincerely. He'd probably turn it down though, wanting to keep his pride. Toms.
